BUG: NIV search is matching cross-references

This search returns a hit for "testify" in John 1:1 (NIV), even though the word is not in the verse:

Footnote B in this verse refers to "Jn 17:5; 1 Jn 1:2", and 1 Jn 1:2 does have the word "testify."

Has something gone wrong, so it is now returning verses that footnote other verses that contain the search term?

(NIV resource was updated today.)

Thanks Graham.

The issue is resolved now that Logos 4b SR-1 (4.52.0.2194) has installed.

It showed up under 4.52.0.2176, so I guess I just had to wait for the update and indexing that followed.

Perhaps the NIV update assumes something introduced in 4b SR-1.

(BTW, I did have a message earlier in the day saying the indexer crashed, so it could have been an indexing problem also, I guess.)

No, it is unrelated. The NIV had a problem which was fixed by an update, which coincidently happened at the same time as the SR-1 release.

It is definitely Indexer related, whether indexing at the time or previously crashed.

I'm having this problem with NIV searches being whacked out, and I should have all the updates. Is there a way to run the indexer, to reindex my files? I have also had the indexer crash, by the way.

When indexed the NIV 2011, version 3 May 2012, doesn't give the strange results reported above. Check you have this version from the resource's Information page. Turn on diagnostic logging and re-index bibles with the command rebuild bible index. This should take 20 - 45 minutes and if it crashes upload the logos4indexer.log as per the wiki. Otherwise repeat the Bible Search to check it is OK and then index the main library with rebuild library index (this could take several hours).
