Is it correct that, besides Bible references, only resource, and not reference, links can be used in the hyperlink box in Notes?
If so, why? If the PB compiler can recognize reference links, why can't Notes?
Using Logos 4.5c Beta 4 on Mac OS X 10.6.8, copied a table from a Logos resource into a Note file, the footnote was included with a hyperlink (cmd + click) back to the Logos resource location:
Hovering over the blue hyperlink in Notes showed a pop-up for the article.
Keep Smiling [:)]

I know, but that's not what I was asking about. I was asking about what you can enter in the hyperlink box under the little chain icon.

Highlighting the footnotes from resource copy and paste, then clicking little chain icon shows Logos URL to an article in a Logos resource.
For grins in Logos 4.5c Beta 4 on Mac OS X 10.6.8, opened a resource, copied location as URL, switched to a note file, highlighted a word, clicked chain icon, pasted URL, then clicked chain icon. The text turned blue plus hyperlink worked.
I think I understand what you are referring to, but to be sure could you give me a specific example of the kind of reference link you're referring to? I tried a few things but nothing I tried was picked up by the Personal Book compiler.
Well, unfortunately I can't say I have a clue what you're referring to. [:)] What kind of reference link isn't picked up by the PB compiler? None that I can think of.
Anyway, if I tag a PB with [[CCC 818 >> CCC:CCC 818]] I get a blue CCC 818 link, but if I type CCC 818 in a note, select the text, click on the hyperlink icon, and type CCC:CCC 818 in the box the text remains unlinked. The only way I can make the link is by manually going to the reference, copying the URL logosres:catcathchrch;ref=CCC.CCC_818, and using that in the hyperlink box instead.
This:
If, for example, I should happen to want those links to switch over to Latin once the Latin CCC has shipped, well, that won't happen. I can't just change the prioritization, I would have to redo every link. If I make a lot of links to the ECF, and then, as the years go by, you ship more modern translations, again I would have to redo every one of them in order for them to take me to the wanted text. And if I want quick references in English one day, but dig down in the Greek another, that can't be done at all.
So my question remains: if the PB compiler can recognize reference links, why can't Notes? And if Notes can recognize Bible references, why can't it recognize other references?
Bump.
Bump!

No, you didn't. You never got back to me, so I had no way of knowing if anyone had even read the follow-up post.

Good! [:)]
This case has been resolved 'by design' due to performance reasons. The detection code has to run on every keystroke which would slow down typing if we did more than the limited set we already do.
