TNIV not working (even on Reftagger website!)

I was using the TNIV as my default translation and was trying to work out why references were not loading. I looked for help on the Reftagger website and found that the TNIV wasn't even working there!

I'm not actually sure of the specifics, but I'd guess so. The publisher has effectively retired the TNIV, and we're no longer allowed to sell, serve, or offer it.

Is there an more elegant way of retiring the TNIV that leaves people's websites still working?
