The Works of George A. Barton (15 vols.) going for $30 with 20 just above 80%.
As always, great deals in Community pricing. To see the other items at or above 90% and therefore have the potential to close this week, go to this thread: Community Pricing Items at 90+%
This one has dropped price:
Classic Commentaries and Studies on Proverbs (20 vols.) going for $25 with $20 at about 85%.
We've got 5 items closing this Friday in Community Pricing so far:
Classic Commentaries and Studies on Proverbs (20 vols.) going for $25 with $20 just below 90%.
Classic Commentaries and Studies on Hebrews (31 vols.) going for 40$ with $35 at about 90% (and $30 at about 85%).
Classic Commentaries and Studies on Joshua (17 vols.) going for 30$ with $25 just below 90%.
The Works of George A. Barton (15 vols.) going for $30 with $20 just above 80%.
The Works of Ezekiel Hopkins (4 vols.) going of $21 with $18 just above 90%.
3 Classic Commentaries are going this week! Get'em while they hot!!
Speaking of which, Classic Commentaries and Studies on the Epistles of John (25 vols.) is almost at 95% for $30. So it could easily go this week as well. Don't miss out on these deals folks. This is a big week.
These Classic Commentaries sets are great value (and could be even better value by the end of the week). The stats are available at http://community.logos.com/forums/p/39093/374392.aspx#374392. The RRP so far is over $22000, but the total Community Pricing sales price is only likely to be around $1000. Each set goes for $10 - $40 and contains up to 35 volumes, so even if you don't make use of all the volumes, just one or two volumes per set can make each set worthwhile.
There aren't many left though, with just 8 sets left on community pricing and at least three of those closing for bids (orders) this Friday, it's worth diving in now...
And the e-mails still aren't going out as they should!
Nope. I didn't get the emails either. I just checked it and noticed this morning.
Nor did I.
We've got 6 items closing this Friday in Community Pricing so far:

Classic Commentaries and Studies on Hebrews (31 vols.) going for 40$ with $35 almost at 100% (and $30 just below 95%).

... just added today...
Moravian Church History Collection (12 vols.) going for $30 with $20 just below 80% (Looks like $30 will be the stopping point here unless $25 can become an option).
3 Classic Commentaries are going this week, and many other good deals! Get 'em while they hot!!
So as of now we have 99 volumes going for $176 this week. This is a great deal. What's even better is that with more bidders, many of these items could drop price, bringing the total down to as low as $138!
Classic Commentaries and Studies on the Epistles of John is at 99%, and just needs a little help this morning!
Yeah - let's' get it over before noon so that we lose another week!!!
Funny, but unfortunately all too true.
I've reduced my bid to help prevent it from going over before noon.
Seriously?! This is the second time you've posted about an item about to cross the line within the last two days. What's worse is that you made your post this morning, just a few hours before we gain an extra week to bid and bring the price down. And on top of that, we already have 6 other items closing this week. Come on man. This is just downright uncool to say the least. I understand wanting to get these things out into production, especially this particular item because 1 John is one of my favorite books. But a lot of us don't have a lot of money and would rather wait the week and have the price drop than get it out immediately (at least I'm making this assumption anyway). I obviously can't ask you to stop because you are another human being and can therefore do whatever you want, and you're staff to boot. But please help us out who need as much price break as we can get because we don't have much money. (So actually I am kindly asking you to stop posting these items that "just need a little help" in other words.) I hope you consider this. Thanks.

Unfortunately it went over the top 10 minutes ago.
I recieved the email at 2:47 PM EST. Too bad everyone doesn't have a better understanding of how CP works. For the want of an additional 15 minutes, we lose a week of price lowering possibilities.
Jonathan, I have to agree with the other posters. You are not building good will with the Logos customers.
Gentle reminder of what we already know: before we toss any more rocks at our brother-in-Christ Jonathan, let's remember that the walls of our own houses are too often glass. The CC's are a good value whether or not they cost $5 more than we wanted to pay (myself included). Blessings to all...
Oh come off it!!
Blessings to you, Alex,
Another gentle reminder of forum guidelines, which you'll perhaps respect even if you won't respect me:
Please abide by the following guidelines as you interact on our forums.
Throwing rocks isn't in the spirit of either 1 or 3.
Please pray before you respond.

I agree. I have just cancelled some Logos preorders that I was in two minds about, in protest.
BillS ... let's take it easy. $5 is $5.
It's certainly worth more than the value of another believer, right?
Now, $4? Ok, maybe they're worth that. Definitely $3. I know for sure $1. Anything below that, no question.
So in the future, if you see $1 maybe up to $3 or so difference, than not insulting another CP bidder is a decent trade-off. But $4 up ... money is what matters.
Bill,
You are correct. My post was not meant to throw rocks at Jonathan, but I can see how it could be interpreted that way. Part of the enticement of the CP program (at least to me) is seeing if we can get the price down. Will $5 or $10 kill my budget? Absolutely not. If we have an extra week to get a price down, do I visit the Logos site 3 or 4 times a day to see how we are doing? Absolutely. For lack of a better term, there is a certain enthusiasm or anticipation created when we have that extra week.
I apologize if you or Jonathan (or anyone else for that matter) took it that i was throwing rocks. I pray you have a blessed day.
Mike
Jonathan... You are not building good will with the Logos customers.
Unfortunately, some of us are poorer than others, in which case $5 makes a difference. As far as I'm concerned, that's lunch.
Besides, the issue isn't about whether or not it's still a good deal in CP anyway. Nor is the issue about the amount saved. It's about the almost disrespectful move made by Jonathan, an employee. This was a bad move on his part for multiple reasons. Because this item has both crossed the line and will close in 2 days, this move will cause people to miss out on the deal, especially given that the email system still isn't working. On top of that, like I said, most of us would rather wait out the week and save the money because money is tight. Therefore, he just did a disservice to the majority of us, customers, in more than one way. This is not acceptable as far as I'm concerned. I'm not intending to "throw rocks" at Jonathan. However, what has just occurred should be shown in its proper light. If this light reveals that what was done really was a poor decision and this, in turn, looks bad on him, then that's a by product of learning to make better decisions.
Well, I had a number of prepubs that upon further reflection, spurred by a recent need to save small increments of money, I decided I could live without. One post has cost Logos over a hundred dollars today.
especially given that the email system still isn't working.
I think it's working now. At least I got an e-mail.
I sincerely apologize to all, I did not think through the post(s) thoroughly.
One of the reasons I love my job is because I get to help people like you get great scholarly and biblical resources for very low prices. I did not mean to deny anyone the opportunity to get a lower price—I actually want you all to get great deals.
Again I apologize for my lack of foresight and consideration; it certainly will not happen again.
God bless,
Jonathan
I'm not sure if this is a good point to mention this, Jonathan, but did you have any comment on why there is such a short closing period? It's been suggested elsewhere (e.g. http://community.logos.com/forums/t/45697.aspx) that it gets lengthened, but I don't remember reading any response from Logos about why they won't do it. I think some of the tension in this post could have been avoided if there was a longer closing period. If you were able to shed any light, then that would be appreciated.

What we need to remember is that we all respond in our own way. I laugh at myself for getting annoyed at forum users trying to tell me how to bid. My approach is simple - I go through CP once a week, bid the highest I am willing to pay and forget about it. Why do I laugh at myself? Because I have a daughter who would spend a great deal of energy getting the price down. To D. it is fun - to me it is a pain. I don't even get a thrill playing scratch games at McDonald's.Instead I get bored.[|-)]

This was a good response to the issue. Thank you Jonathan. And what you did in posting about items close to crossing the line wasn't bad in itself obviously. If you did it now or tomorrow, it would be great timing. But as it was, the timing is what caused this unfortunate incident. So I'd encourage you to feel free to help us with your postings while keeping all this in mind. Thanks again.
I think the problem is with Logos. i don'g get it - it makes no difference to Logos, as the price goes over the top either way, and with the backlog on producing them, I can't see that a week would make any difference. But there have been a lot of books recently, and I personally probably could have saved thirty or forty dollars this month if there was a longer window.
We've got 7 items closing this Friday in Community Pricing tomorrow at noon PST:
Classic Commentaries and Studies on the Epistles of John (25 vols.) going for $30. This will probably be the closing price.
Classic Commentaries and Studies on Proverbs (20 vols.) going for $25. This will probably be the closing price as well.
Classic Commentaries and Studies on Hebrews (31 vols.) going for 35$. Again, probably the closing price.
Classic Commentaries and Studies on Joshua (17 vols.) going for 25$. Definitely the closing price.
The Works of George A. Barton (15 vols.) going for $25. Most likely closing price.
The Works of Ezekiel Hopkins (4 vols.) going of $21. We really don't have much time, but it's pretty close to $18. So it might drop.
Moravian Church History Collection (12 vols.) going for $30. Definitely closing price.
4 Classic Commentaries are going this week, and many other good deals! Get 'em while they hot!!
We have 124 volumes going for $191 this week. A lot of the next prices down are around 90%. So most of these items won't drop price anymore, but you never know. [;)] Keep up the bidding folks!
Hmmm ... where Matthew and Nina ... looks like the per-volume is well below Matthew's $2 prize-winning average.
