I am considering buying Logos Scholar, but was wondering if the different Afrikaans translations are available as part of the programme?
Hi Christo
There is nothing included with the program - actually the programme can be downloaded for free and there are even a few books that can be downloaded for free to use on it.
The best value though is to by one of the base packages which will give you a library foundation to build on. While there are some great resources available in the base packages I don't think that the Afrikaans translation is among them.
Go to the Logos home page and have a look at the base packages and then see how much extra it would be to add your translation by checking the resources section.
Logos used to sell Bibles in Afrikaans (and even some packages, I believe) through a partner in South Africa, but I've gotten the impression that that partnership has ended. Unless the right Logos employee happens to see this thread, you will have to call or e-mail Logos directly to ask about how the Afrikaans Bibles are handles these days, as they don't seem to have turned up on logos.com.
Just to add: One package sold on CD-ROM and produced in the 1990s was called "Bybel Biblioteek" and covered three Afrikaans translations. No luck finding a copy on ebay.com or amazon.com. Most probably, the files exist on the big FTP server and it's just the issue of aquiring a licence for it.
Just to add: One package sold on CD-ROM
Two years here and I didn't have a clue that page existed, much less that Logos has already produced Flannery's Conciliar and Post Conciliar Documents! Now I'd just like to know why I can't buy it from logos.com. Time for a little e-mail to Andrew, I believe. [:)]
