Has anyone purchased this that might be able to give me some info? I know its fairly older however it looks like a good price for what you get and it has a few titles by D. A. Carson, which are always a positive.

I have it. I haven't benefited much from it, even the Carson works. Perhaps I've had some search hits on the Evangelical Review of Theology. I don't think I paid $45 for my copy, though, and knowing what I do probably would not.

I think it's a good collection - bought it from a third party maybe a year ago and didn't realize that it is available through the website now. As you said, it's a bit older - but what's the 1990s for a Logos resource, the "classical commentaries" are a hundred years older, the puritans and John Newman even more and then you go back to ECF... That said, I put a note on one or two articles that compare evangelical viewpoints to RCC to remind myself that these predate the "joint declaration" from 1999.

Re articles: You may note that the Carson books are edited by him, and he contributed a lot, but were not fully written by him (which need not be bad - he enlisted Edmund Clowney, P.T. O'Brien, R.T France plus some international contributors - by looking again I even found an article by Miroslav Wolf and one by Gerhard Maier). I think the WEF resources show him a bit more irenic than more recent TGC-stuff, but maybe that's only my impression. I was interested in this series, especially since evangelicalism is a pan-denominational thing, to read what the WEA published regarding Justification, Ecclesiology and Worship (the book on the bible & hermeneutics won't be too much news for someone raised in that tradition, I fear). I actually wondered that there even IS a book on ecclesiology by the WEA.

I recall stumbling in a paper book over a reference to Carson's "Right with God: Justification in the bible and the world" and thought: hey, interesting title, look it up on Amazon - but it's already here!

The mix of thematic driven books one may read on purpose plus the ERT which comes up in searches but as several years of a journal won't be read cover to cover is a good thing, too.  must admit I haven't studied all of it, yet. Given the usual pricing of Logos resources, I concur that the price is not bad - I've spend more money on Logos resources of lesser quality.

    Hope this helps

I bought version two on CD and am waiting for a version four before I consider plunking down more money. The second edition wasn't a bad little collection but the third edition wasn't worth the update cost in my opinion. That said, I do hope they can come out with a fourth edition in the near future.

I know that this is an older thread, but while reading the Matthew commentary in the NIVAC, I found a reference to

    M. M. B. Turner, "Prayer in the Gospels and Acts,"  Teach Us to Pray:  Prayer in the Bible and the World, ed. D.A. Carson (Grand Rapids: Baker, 1990), 64.

So I looked up Teach Us to Pray... on Logos and found that it is in this collection.  I had actually looked into this once before when looking for another book on prayer that was actually written by Carson.  It is $35.00 for the paperback on Amazon.com, so this seemed like a great deal for the entire set.  The book may end up being terrible, but I doubt it, since it seems to be a collection of essays.  I just wanted to add this information.
