No, the <type>:<label> syntax is only for Clause Search (where you need to say what the relationship of the searched item is). In Bible Facts, it's just a name or label.
That's what I assumed but I hoped I was incorrect. Users generally are more fluent in a system where the same syntax works everywhere it logically fits. I have the same issue with here I need quotes, here I don't.
