On my Kindle Fire, when I do a word study in "low light" mode and click on Hebrew / Greek word to open up the different verses where the word is found part of the text is "whited out."
If this happened in Southern US, we'd suspect it is Liquid Paper and an Auburn fan had been using your tablet.
