Writing notes hangs while typing

I'm using the newish capability of writing new notes within the app, and it's a great new functionality (app version 3.0.3, iOS6).

But on a regular basis the whole app hangs for a minute or more, before releasing itself and one can carry on typing or scrolling through scripture.

I'm assuming it's caused by the synching process which seems to be running all the time - if I put the iPAD in 'Airplane Mode' to block all internet access, then I don't have the problem. But then I can't follow the Proclaim Presentation.

The synching idea is great, but not at the expense of blocking the app.

Any suggestions for how to get the synching to be more 'background' and less intrusive?

A couple of questions to try and pin this down a bit more.

It sounds from what you are saying that you are following a Proclaim presentation at the same time as trying to type a note. Is that correct and, if so, do,you get the same problem if you are just trying to type on its own? I'm trying to determine whether it is an interaction issue.

Also, when you are typing what sort of network connection do you have - wifi or cellular and is it a good signal?
