We can search our own notes! Wow!

I was an L4 Beta Tester, and I missed it somehow.

Was wondering this evening about the possibility of searching my own notes because for years now so many of us wanted that feature in L3. But, it never happened .........

So.......... thought I'd try it .............. just for a lark, but not at all hopeful .............. It worked!

I was able to find various content on my own notes in L4. Yes! It has happened now, with L4. Probably most of you already know about that without my sharing it; however, just in case I thought I'd post ..

Shame on me for not mentioning this during Beta....I thought it was a given as search hits included my notes. I'm glad you brought it up because there may be others who have not yet realized this wonderful feature.

The thing I like about the new Notes is that I do not need to tie them to any specific text. This makes them a perfect place to put potential illustrations for use in future sermons. By putting some tags in the note, I can specify the topic, even if it is not part of the illustration itself.

The one thing I have not figured out how to do is add a hyperlink to a note or clipping. I see the textbox labeled "hyperlink" but can put nothing into it of any use. My work around for now is to put the address at the bottom of the note in bold and italics. Am I missing something?

In notes you can create hyperlinks to other passages and web addresses. For passages simply type in the passage you want then hit the space bar and your link should automatically create itself. Although I tested this out and it worked fine for me, sometimes I notice that I need to be in "edit mode" within the note and click on the CTRL key while clicking on the hyperlink for it to work for web addresses. Works like a charm to various passages.

Hope it works for you...otherwise I'll create a movie to show you what I'm talking about.

Hmmm ----- When I put the URI at the bottom of the note, I don't remember them converting into hyperlinks. But I may not of pushed the space bar. I will give it a try.

It is used to create a title for that note.
