Minimal Cross grade vs. Starter's Upgrade (which one to buy?)

I bought the Scholar's Library back in early October and now L5 has come out and I want to upgrade. What should I be getting as an upgrade? Crossgrade or Starter's Upgrade to get all of L5 features?

Thanks for your help!

Bill

The Minimal Crossgrade will give you all of L5's features. Starter will give you a few features and several extra resources. So if you want resources get Starter, if you want features get the Crossgrade.

The minimal crossgrade includes ALL of the new features and datasets of Logos 5.

My crossgrade offer looked like Tom's (the 3 missing features). But I've been using the genre's for OT/NT on my Logos4 (though I'm not particularly impressed). Hopefully L5 knows about them but if not, won't be missed.

Please note to the left... There are little icons. A circle with a 5 in the middle of it means  that that feature/resource is NEW TO LOGOS 5. If that is missing, then it was in Logos 4. Doing a minimal crossgrade would not get you that feature/resource. It's not new.... Does this make sense?

    DMB,

You won't lose any features, datasets, or books from your Logos 4 library when you upgrade to Logos 5—Minimal Crossgrade included. The "missing features" in the new Minimal Crossgrade are features that were included with Logos 4. The Logos 5 Minimal Crossgrade gives you everything that's new in 5, not the older Logos 4 features and datasets.

    Hope that clears it up.

Sorry, I am still confused. The Minimal crossgrade is listed as cheaper than the Starter package, though the Starter is actually cheaper for me (I suppose this is due to my current library).

If I get the Starter package, do I get everything new that is in Logos 5?

    Again, sorry!

Matthew, Starter is missing some of the new features and data sets available in Logos. You can see that on the upgrade page. The Minimum Crossgrade will complete your Starter package but will cost additional.

Matthew.... The answer is no. The Starter package does NOT include all of the NEW features of Logos 5. You can see that by the missing 'dots' under the Starter Package column of your upgrade page.

You are correct that the price for Starter is based on your existing resources which creates your package price. However, if you want all of the features of Logos 5, the minimal crossgrade or the Gold package is the way to go.

(Caveat: I imagine that it COULD be possible to get the price down by purchasing the Starter Package upgrade and then purchasing the Minimal Crossgrade package - especially if your current library drives down the price of the Starter package far enough)

I believe the minimal crossgrade is about $82 for someone who already owns Starter .

Well, there ya go, Matthew. Some simple addition should give you an idea of what it'd cost by buying your discounted Starter package + the minimal crossgrade vs just the minimal crossgrade.

It emphasises that this is an L4 Crossgrade to L5.

L3 users with (non-L4) base packages will have a decision to make because Biblical People/Places/Things is not included even though many maps and images are supplied. And they may not have a Reverse Interlinear because the LEB English-Hebrew doesn't exist yet (and the LEB isn't offered even though it is free).

Then I'm piuzzled by the fluff books included as well as the Septuagint bible and LXX Lexicon!?
