I changed my password on the logos.com site expecting it to be changed on my ios and desktop apps. But when I started the apps, it didn't ask me to put in my new password and loaded normally. Is this the way it is supposed to work?
Hi John
That is surprising.
I wonder of there is some delay factor here with it taking time for the changes you made to e propagated to various authentication servers.
How soon after changing your password did you use the apps?
Graham
The mobile apps don't have a way to signout. I would assume that if anything will happen on the mobile side, you will have to delete the app and reinstall. I'm not positive, but I think that this is the case.
It's been almost 24 hours. They are still not asking me to enter my new password.
The reason I changed my password was because of a security issue. I need to make sure all are changed on all devices. If changing the password on the website does not change all the passwords on all devices, then how is this accomplished?
John – we would need Logos to give us a difinitive answer... But there isn't a way to log out. Because of that, I don't believe the app will ask you for a new password. If anything, I would think you would just lose access to your resources. If you have many downloaded resources, you might want to wait for Logos to answer. Otherwise, delete and reinstall.
First though: Did you use the method to sign back in to the desktop app? On Mac, press and hold the command key immediately upon startup of the app. I don't know the windows key. If the new password works, I would assume it would work on mobile as well. You could also try biblia.com. Log out first if need be.
I patiently await Logos' answer.
Did you use the method to sign back in to the desktop app?
I have not done this. However, when the MAC app loads, it says "Signing In" and I assume that it is validating my credentials.
No, it is supposed to log you out of all existing applications and prompt you to re-enter your (new) password. It's a high-priority item on our tasklist and something we're actively working to address.
Bradley - just to clarify... This behavior (not signing out) isn't the desired behavior, but is the currently expected behavior. Right? Or does John need to do something else? Should he delete and reinstall? Any consequences for not doing so?
Thank you Bradley and Alabama for your help. My problem is that I installed a copy of logos ios to use while on vacation on a device that is not mine. I changed my password hoping that it would disable this device from using my resources and highlighting them. I patiently wait for a resolution.
I've been told that this should now be fixed: if you change your password on logos.com, the next time you open the mobile app, you will need to sign in with the new password. Thanks for your patience while we addressed this problem.
Thank you!
I confirm that this works correctly on mobile devices. But it still does not ask me for my new password on logos 5 on my mac. Is this supposed to be addressed, too?
Yes, you should be prompted to log in again on the Mac (and Windows), too. I'll look into this.
