Logos 5 frequently not responding

It doesn't matter what I am doing I am frequently getting a not responding message and when I click a tab the response is very slow. This use to happen in Logos 4 and this is why I upgraded.

The top right tab indicates it is not synchronising

Perhaps I need a fresh install and start all over again

A number of very common operations are taking seconds to complete instead of milliseconds i.e. about 100x slower than what I'd expect

Loading your 16 resource panels takes 1.5s typical to 4 s max. compared to 70ms typical to 400ms for me.

There were no sync errors in the log, though.

What are the specs of your computer (memory, HDD size/free space, CPU type and speed, video memory)

How often do you defragment the drive, or clean up unwanted files?

I have a Gigabyte P55
motherboard running an I5 760 overclocked to 3200Mhz. I am running Windows 7
64bit with 4GB memory. My hard drive is 2TB Seagate (not one of the faster hard
drives I know) I regularly defrag my hard drive and run CCleaner & Advance
System Care. All my other programs run quite nicely which include Adobe CS5
& Corel Draw X5

I would suggest simplifying your layout from 16 resource tabs down to 8 to see if that improves things. Another idea would be to deselect any large Collections that you show in Parallel Resources (as these take time to load with a resource tab).

If this provides no improvement then do a complete reinstallation, deleting the \Logos4 folder after uninstalling.

EDIT: I wonder if the overclocking might also have an effect - is it completely stable? are you using the stock cooler?

Check this out - about 3x faster than the average SSD which are usually installed via a SATA channel.

This is PCI direct. I am going to get one and see what happens. It has a high IOPS rating (Lots of I/O requests) as well as high bandwidth 800 MB/Sec

Thanks Dave for trying to help. Dropping off some resources did help a small amount, but I am still not totally happy with the program speed. Might go for a total reload, which hasn't been done since Logos 3. I keep imaging my hard drives.
