L5 Mac Crash: Using timeline

I had probably about seven or eight resources open and was scrolling the timeline back to look at some dates. Logos had not crashed in about a week, so life was good. Then boom! Logos crashes.

Running 5.0a SR-1 and OSX 10.8.2 I had freshly booted my macbook earlier this morning and had a good internet connection. I have no idea what might have caused this crash.

it died with a crash either directly or indirectly related to the Mono component (which unfortunately Mac users have to suffer)

2. Also in the LogosError.log I see a lot of Internet communication issues — timeouts; connection reset by peer (other end of connection dropped your connection) — this does not necessarily mean the issue is with your Internet connection.

3. I see you have a number of Logos 4 logs in your Logging folder you should delete those now.

I would suggest that, particularly for the first issue, you contact Logos Support and refer them to this post and have them register this bug (as in Logos could not keep functioning) to escalate to developers. I have seen a number of logs reporting issues with Mono, as Logos 5 is using the latest version of Mono there are bound to be some 'undesirable' issues with it.

Thanks for the input. The internet is bad here.

Which logs should I remove? I use the log archival script to put the logs together, so I don't even go into that directory to see what is there.

Removing old Logos 4 logs:

Open Finder
Type [ Shift] [ Command ][ G ] for 'Go'
Copy/paste this path - /Users/dpalmer/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Logging
Remove all log files starting with 'Logos4'
There is also old file 'LogosError-2.log you can get rid of

Thanks for the information on the logs. I'll clean them up.

My internet connection is poor because I live in Africa and there's not a lot that I can do about it. [:(]
