Suggestion: Highlight the whole phrase translating a Greek word when searching reverse interlinears

When searching a Greek or Hebrew word in a reverse interlinear, I find it strange that only one word is highlighted when more than one word is used to translate the word.

Here is a simple example:

The search for τεκνίον correctly finds John 13:13. In the NASB, this word is translated "little children". Yet only the word "little" is highlighted.

But if another Bible is added to the results list, the correct phrase is highlighted. In this example, Ii believe the primary Bible which was searched should also highlight the entire phrase. To do less than this is misleading and can confuse people who know only a little Greek or Hebrew.

I teach Bible classes to students that have no knowledge of Greek or Hebrew. They learn how to search with Logos on the Greek/Hebrew words and show the results in English. I don't want them to think the Greek word really means "little", when it means "little children". If they are going to be misled this way, it would be better to teach them the old way of using Strongs concordance in print.

The power of a reverse interlinear Bible is to search in the original language and display the results in a translation. Let's use it to its full capacity!

The left side of the image is the ESV, the right side is the NASB95. Notice the position of the MSS and Lemma

τεκνία is Greek for 'children' (plural)with the meaning of little child, so (little) children, the 'little' is added in English translation.

It would appear the ESV interlinear renders it properly. For the English sense it highlights 'little children' when the single Greek work is selected.

This is correct. But the ESV only highlights "little children" when it is added as the second Bible in the search results, not when the ESV is the Bible that is searched.

I believe "little children" should be highlighted when the ESV is the search Bible as it does when it is the second Bible. The program should be consistent in this.

The second Bible's highlight may be due to Sympathetic Highlighting, but the Search result shows the MSS position corresponding to the Greek search term i.e. two separate processes. With that reserve, I would still support the "sympathetic highlighting" of Visual Filter results in the resource.
