links to other resources missing in L5

In WBC Vol 34a I am noticing that where I expect links to other resources in my library I have only text, as in the following example:

Eventually, under the inflluence of literary criticism (see Peterson, Criticism) the discussion has shifted more to the Gospel as a whole viewed as the literary product of the evangelist. [6 highlights] Mark has again come to be seen as a narrative in its own right (e.g., Peterson, Criticism; idem, Semeia 12 [1978] 97–121; idem, Int 34 [1980] 151–66; Rhoads and Michie, Mark; Best, Mark; Tannehill, JR 57 [1977] 386–405; idem, Semeia 16 [1979] 57–98; Kingsbury, Christology; Hahn, Erzähler).

Shouldn't the references to Semeia be live links since I have them in my library? Also there are many places in the text which read "[6 highlights]" as if it is a command for formatting which isn't working.

Any ideas what's going on?

Logos do update links to other references - see http://community.logos.com/forums/t/49031.aspx for some insights regarding this

This is the new "community highlighting" feature introduced with 5.0a which shows where other Logos users have highlighted portions within the text. This can be enabled / disabled using the "Popular Highlights" visual filter.

I cannot be 100% sure, but it may be that Logos acquired the rights to Semeia after WBC. In which case, links would not be present.

Logos are able to ensure that references link to existing resources, they are not able to link to prospective resources.

There are occasions where Logos go back and review and revise a book or series adding links and tags (this was recently done with regards to the AYBD). I have no information as to whether Logos intend to revise the WBC. I do appreciate that this would be a mammoth undertaking.

Greg - just to add a little to what my friends have said… Links between resources don't happen automatically… a real life person must create those links. Logos does update resources, but with thousands and thousands of resources, I am sure you can appreciate how large of a challenge this is. It's important to remember that Logos resources are "value added," which is why we have features like this. [:)]

Since - based on what Alabama explained so clearly - the situation may persist for some time, one possible workaround would be to "crowdsource" such links by putting them into Community Notes.

One would need to have a Faithlife group "additional resource links" or so and every member could generate links and then see the Community notes icon before literature references in the text. Of course this requires an active group of people that care about such links (and have a large library)
