Logos 5 Indexer Issues

These logs were before and after the last download--I've probably over-written the specific ones where the 3 Vyrso files did not "make it" into my Library. Sorry for that.

[Just trying to give L5 the enefit of the doubt? ]There were logs missed [ie over-written] in regards to the 3 occassions after up-grading to L5 when the "Indexer Failed" windows appeared..

Nevertheless, although 3 Vyrso Resources have apparently downloaded, they did not get properly indexed, at least the L5 installation appears to think that all is well, when it is not. [I assume, again, like each time this happened in L4, that these 3 resources now show up on Biblia.com.

So it appears that my Logos 4 indexing problem continues to cause the same issues now that I have up-graded to L5?

On the right side, L5 does seem to be "quicker" than L4.

What makes you think the books were not indexed properly? Vyrso books aren't the same as Logos books and will not behave the same way in terms of searches and the like.

Because, without a lot of "fancy footwork" they NEVER show up in the Library. And that non-occurance always takes place when I get the message "Logos Bible Software has quit working plus a comment about the indexer shutting down. Unfortunately, it often does that without generating a crash or error report log.

After looking at this much of the weekend, "Star" David Hooton suggests that your tech's need to look at this "weird" re-curring problem.

[Aside: has there ever been a reported issue due to the use or presence of "Tune-up "Utilities"?]

Today 1 of the 3 Vyrso resources has finally shown up this afternoon after numerous "tries"

I used the term "not indexed properly becasue the indexer has (most of the time been "crashing" / quiting too soon / not properly working

You can ask Bradley or some of our very helpful resident "stars" - for me this has been a"long-term" problem.

Bradley has worked at it before--only way in past to completely solve it was to continually re-instal the who;le program with an entire mega-GB download.

All 3 were on the same invoice.

It is not that I am impatiently clicking on "download resources" every few moments.

When they don't "show up" they are always visible on my Biblia website. Without re-installing I've had a few that did not appear in my L4 program for months. I just did not want the hassle of a gigantic download and all night indexing. So I went "without" them.

This has been going on since April. Bradley gave it a lot of his attention in the "summer"? or early fall? His final suggestion was that it might relate to a problem Windows USer account Because of that I recently re-formatted the entire HD adn created a number of new USer Accounts. One is the Admin, one the Guest and 2 are Standard User Accounts where I do my Work."

(Upgraded from L4 last night).So today is the first time that I have also been able to see it "screw up" in L5.

This past weekend's attempts while still in L4 to "hide" Libronix and Logos 20 resources succeeded in fixing a long term error involving "Sinai.Message" which has appeared in many previous indexer log crash reports. But after up-grading to L5 I "un-hid" my Libronix folders in order to get back "sermons of" and "Illustrations of" and my Logos 20 resource folder for that I could get back my Van Til collection.

Usually I have not got a problem with Logos' own re-built files downloading and installing. The ones that do not appear are almost always newly purchased" resources, and especially, but not always, ones from Vyrso.

Please note: a re-install always fixes things--UNTIL the next newly purchased resource attempts to download.

One week later, after many failed attempts and numerous multi-Gig downloads and {behind the scene "tweaks" etc) I was finalty able to get L5 up-to-date and running with all resources present. -- I've now turned Internet to "off."
