The medium bundle, is it critical?
bump! My question has passed unnoticed. So, is the medium NT topical bundle critical or not?
Unix, can you provide a link. Cannot find the packages.
New Testament Studies Bundle, M (11 vols.)
Unix, I am not sure how you are using the word "critical." Are you referring to the way the authors exam scripture (using text critical, narrative critical, .... approaches)? Or are you using the word "critical" as needing the works in your library?
I just tought that someone has read/glanced all these books. I can't possibly be personally familiar, in advance, with every book issued - what has that got to do with it?
For your purposes, the books are not critical. If you don't know if you need a book, you probably shouldn't buy it.
I didn't mean in that sense, that's up to me to decide after someone has reviewed them to me:

I know from other posts that you often do searches for reviews of books, so why not just go to amazon.com and search the books for reviews. This would seem much more fruitful, and then you can make up your own mind.
I would also ask about your use of the word critical. Do you mean do they delve deeply into the subjects, or do you mean that they are coming from a "liberal" perspective. Why would they be of no use in seminary if they are not "liberal." I attended a highly conservative Baptist seminary, and I was expected to study all perspectives.
As long as the books are scholarly written, then what difference does it make?
bookreviews.org from the SBL is also a great place to get scholarly reviews.
bump! Can anyone answer my questions, please?
OK, I'll do that whenever I have time to the next few days:

Unix, I'm sorry that you feel your question is not being answered. Speaking only for myself, I've not offered an opinion because I don't have a good sense of what appeals to you. Nor do I have a good sense of what you consider liberal or conservative - people always seem to define them based upon their own position. However, if you have specific titles you wonder about, I (and others) might feel we could give you a reasonable answer.

Unix, I am with MJ. For one, I know several very conservative theologians and seminaries that use and write very good "critical" commentaries and papers. For me, "critical" is not liberal or conservative; it is a way to study scripture: Nothing more - nothing less.
I will say that you have asked the question in a way no one can answer it. I am wondering if you could please reword your question. Thanks
