Gesenius Hmmmmm

Folks point out how the website occasionally hiccups when reporting what resources a customer has. This is an interesting example.

I own the two resources on top and bottom...thus the grayed-out buttons. But the bundle in the middle...I apparently don't own that--even though it is nothing more than the two resources I am shown as owning. Hmmmm.

This isn't a big deal, but it gives a clear example of Logos's need to continue tweaking the website. I came across the bundle while searching and did a double-take, wondering if there were some Gesenius resources I didn't own.

+1 [Y] Puzzling since can replicate buttons plus found similar Counterpoint situation:

The 3 volume upgrade is part of the larger 14 volume collection.

I think Logos has stated that they run the graying out on SKU's which leads to the sort of anomalies you are noting.

Thank you for reporting this. We are aware of this issue and this is something that can be fixed (and something that we are working on). We find this to be the case when the collection is greater then the sum of its constituent resources. In other words, the collection contains resources that are not contained in the individual products.

In some cases this is desired and in some cases it is not; either way we are working towards a solution. This includes cleaning up older collections and pushing out updates to the website site that are more informative (such as telling you how much of a collection you own).

Perhaps you could also take a look at BUG: Wrong button colour? And some of my many older threads like for example BUG: The Jewish New Testament should have a gray button for owners of the CJB? I have dozens upon dozens of bug threads just in the Website forum that no one has ever bothered to even acknowledge, much less fix. It feels pretty hopeless to report errors when they're not even read. it's quite bad enough that we have to put up with the bugs.

Besides, at least a couple of the resources in that second thread are included in the base packages. Does the discounting work properly when the button colours do not?

I apologize for not responding to your other threads. Regardless if we respond to the posts directly or not, every post in the website forum is read and reviewed and acted upon as soon as time allows. To that end, the products in the Jewish New Testament thread that have button color issues are similar in nature to the one reported in this thread and have the same "fix". As for the "Also included in section:" we are evaluating how we can improve those areas, but have no current action planned. The issues with the Nehemiah Institute pre-pub may not be related to this (it is being looked at).

As we have made changes to how we calculate pricing for partially owned collections we were able to uncover the root cause of why some things owned would often not show the grayed out button when they should. The good news is that the changes we are looking into should cover the majority of these cases.

To your question about discounting, yes that works properly regardless button color.

I also wanted to say that reporting discrepancies with button color does help us find outliers; so thank you.
