How does one turn off notifications

I get e-mail(s) that state the following - "To unsubscribe from this item only, visit the item link and turn off notifications" ... (End quote)

My question is - where is that option on any posting? And why is it made so simple that one cannot possibly find it without asking on this forum itself???

From www.logos.com sign into your account settings. You will find a list of the email notifications there. Uncheck the box next to the mail lists that you no longer want to subscribe to. Also, don't forget to hit the "Update" or "Apply" button when you are finished.

Also, in the Notifications, I do not see anything at all in there regarding particular / specific e-mail notices. Is it under some different title?

if you click on link requesting email - the link will change - its like a toggle

When you are reading this very thread, look up, just above your first post, and to the right. There should always be either "e-mail me when someone replies" or "stop e-mailing replies." This is true for EVERY thread page in the forums, wether you posted or not.

Here's something that is totally weird - I clicked on that before and no way did that change. After reading your note(s) tonight, I clicked on that and it did change. I'm thinking this laptop is possessed.

Well .............. ok, I've got it "stop e-mailing replies to me" and I'm still getting the e-mails. What am I doing wrong here or is there something simply not working correctly on the forum.

Maybe I had a Senior's moment or a Senior's hour. They're frustrating but sometimes they can be a real hoot though, especially if one has half a dozen or so a day!!!!?!

I think I might have it now. Previously, when Dunce here saw "stop e-mailing replies" I'm thinking no more e-mails on a particular thread will rumble in to my Inbox. But suddenly as the penlight came on (it was a wonderful feeling) I realized that one has to click on that instead of just leaving it there to gaze at and read over and over. So doing a click, it now has "e-mail me when someone replies" ... with that, no more e-mails have come on that thread. I guess if one wants e-mails on any thread, one does have to click on "e-mail me when someone replies" ... makes good sense for normal people but for others of us whose *soft spot* never quite healed over, we nearly flip off the cliff over things like this.

Maybe it was the nap, maybe it was apple juice or my brain simply rebooted because of updates but whatever, I think I've got it now. With that, my life should be back on a more even keel and my neighbours won't be awakened by unearthly howls emitting from my home because of total frustration. :-}
