Prioritized Commentaries/Dictionaries Will Not Stay In Commentary Pane

Perhpas someone could help me with this isseue:

Running Logos 5. I have prioritized bibles/commentaries/dictionaries in library pane. They remained prioritized after closing and reopening logos. However, in the logos default study page (from home page) the commentaries/dictionaries are not in the default commentary pane, even after I have prioritized them. I can drag them from the list in the pane on the left into the commentry default pane and they open. Once I close logos and reopen, the commentaries are no longer in the commentary default pane. The issue does not happen with the bibles in the bible default pane. The prioritized bibles stay in the bible default pane after logos is closed and reopened.

Would anyone have a suggestion? Thanks so much! Smile

I am not having this issue and don't have a suggestion. My commentaries do come up in the Passage Guide from the Home Page in the order I prioritized them.

Maybe more information would help us. What are your top five prioritized commentaries? What specific passages have you run the PG on in which you see this problem?

To answer Mark's question. The first 4 commentaries are: ESV study bible; Bilble Knowledge Comm.; Pulpit Comm.;Word Biblical Comm. To the question of passages I've tried: 1 John 4:1-6 and going along with the training video of Morris Proctor, Luke 2:1-7. When i followed his steps in the video, my commentaries did not show up automaticaly in the default commentary pane. I can drag them there and use them but when I close logos and reopen, there are gone. Thanks for any more suggestions.

Regardless of order of prioritization if the verse citation you are running from the home page is not in the commentary you have prioritized it won't show up. Can you find a verse citation in the commentary you are wanting to have pulled up and use that as your basis for search from the Home page and confirm the desired commentary does not appear?

Yes sir. Thank you Tommy. I verified that there was a citation for Proverbs 12:25 in the Bible Knowledge Commentary and the Pulpit Commentary. After I dragged both of those commentaries to the default commentary pane, each one opened up to that exact verse with a citation. I closed logos and then reopened logos and both of those commentaries were gone. Thank you for your help and any future advice is appreciated.

So running the guide from the home page should just result in one commentary being shown.

I'm not clear from what you have said whether you are getting one (and were expecting more) or whether you aren't getting any.

Thank you Graham. I did see what KS4J posted earlier. I was responding to Tommy's question. That may very well be the situation. That would answer my question for sure. I do have one in the pane but unable to hold any more there when rebooting the program. So, that's probably the answer. I was going through Morris Proctor's training video and followed him through the set up and was sure after he prioritized, he had the 2 commentaries he prioritized show up in the default commentary pane. I could be wrong about that so I will look at that again tonight. I sure do appreciate your help.

1. When you restart Logos, do you restart with the hope page showing?

2. Do you go to the default layout by re-entering the verse on the home page? If so, I would expect the results you are getting.

3. Do you go to the layouts menu an select the last layout? If so, I would expect the results you are expecting.

P.S. I appear to have the same problem as you and will have to research the commentary priorities. After I open the layout through the Home Page, the first commentary I open goes into the Bibles pane i.e. the pane that already has the most tabs. The second commentary that I open goes into the commentary pane as would be expected.
