Is L4 Getting Ready For A Lockdown?

I own the LS4 and have many books that I purchased in other places, my question is, will Logos {L4} fix it so that one will no lomger be able to purchase items from other places and use them in L4. Most of the resources I have comes from these other pleases. Logos is just TO HIGH, period! Most of the time if I see something Logos have I go seach for it in other places and most of the time find it at a much cheaper price than what Logos is asking. Most of the things Logos have there is no way I can purchase them without this outside source. So I wonder if Logos is going to have a lock down on all there resources so only to purchase from them and if so they will have to come down on their prices because some of things they are selling are TOOOOO HIGH. Many of them I've purchase form other place at a better price { sometimes more than 60 or 70% less} and have worked very good with L3 {with no problems, even upgaded well into L4}. The only reason why I upgraded was to get the new interface, yet I still with the LS4, because I've already purchased from other sources to upgrade like to the Gold are something is no value to me. I've been with Logos for many years and always had a problem with ther prices {TO HIGH}. Even if you get the pay plan they charge you $5.00 p/m which add to what is already a high price product. Sometime I just go ahead and purchase the hard copy to save money, my thing is as long as I have it, it does not matter if it is software or hard copy. I notice that most of there product {if not all} have been taken off the market, again so are they going to force poeple to purchase from them only and if so I will BE very unhappy with them. Again most of the things they offer in the two upgade for me, I already have and it have been much easier to grow my library in this way because I can get what I want without buyng upgading and getting things I know I wil never use, better yet at a much better price than what they are asking. I really don't think that Logos has any respects for there long time customers. I hope I'm wrong {yet I don't believe so}. Do faithfulness mean anything, anymore?

The only product being taken off the market is product produced by Logos themselves. Nelson, Baker and IVP are still selling their products through resellers. The sales reps at Logos will help you get the most bang for the buck when you call them.

By the way I disagree with your comment on the Logos Gold upgrade, package upgrades is the very best and cheapest way to buy books from Logos. I'm sorry if your finances don't allow you to purchance an upgraded package for what you need, but 5.00 per month service fee is cheap compared to interest on a credit card balance carried for one year.

Price level is a relative thing. Just because you can find a product elsewhere for a lower price, does not mean that Logos is tooooo high.

I really don't think that Logos has any respects for there long time customers. I hope I'm wrong {yet I don't believe so}. Do faithfulness mean anything, anymore?

But—by your own admission—you are not a long time Logos customer. You are a reseller customer. If you believe the asking price is too high, then save your money—don't buy. Logos deserves a fair return for their labor. Otherwise, there will be no Logos.

I could say a lot more about your post, but I will refrain, or the thought police will slam me for being too critical.

I've been with Logos for many years and have watch many upgades come my way. I am not a reseller customer {what ever that may mean} I purchase Logos myself. What do you call fair? Do not get me wrong I am happy with the upgrade and have been happy with the last three or four upgade I'v purchsed in the many years I've been using them. Yet it has great to be able to purchase from other places for a better price. Who don't look for the best price? Again this is a great way to grow your lifrary when you are able to get what you want {or need} at a good price. I hope that Logos keep the door open for this option {which is all I'm saying}. I'm sorry the LORD has not bless me to have all the money I want, but HE has bless me to have more than what I need. If I can be wise in what the LORD has bless me with by looking for the best price than I feel {& think} that's a blessing. I'm sorry, I do not want you to be mad at me!!!!!!
The fact is I have purchased many things in other places at a much cheaper price and I truly thing the LORD for helping me to find these items so that I can grow in the knowledge of HIM. Logos has help me to contain all the things I've purchase in one place which is a great help for me.

I do believe that this post says something very different from your first one. Had you stated then what you just said, I would not have replied to you. You repeatedly complained that Logos' prices were too high. That was the reason for my comment. I see nothing wrong with seeking the best price, but that does not mean that Logos has an unfair pricing policy which is what you kept implying in your initial post.

I used to think about the cost as well, but, being employed in the computer field, I see the cost as appropriate given the time it takes to enter all this information in the proper format, the time it takes to develop this software making sure it all works together. Having taken a few computing courses myself, I know what it takes to make the software function properly. I thank the good Lord that there are companies like this so I don't have to own a public library to use all these resources. My library has gone from 2 tall bookcases to a smaller one along with my laptop. What might have taken hours to research before, can now be done in a few seconds. I, for one am extremely happy with the program thus far, and yes, as with anything built by us humans, there may be minor glitches in the operation or text. Without the ability to make payments, something Logos wasn't required to do, I would still be stumbling through the other Bible Software I have used. Finally, the others, as far as I have seen or have used fail in comparison, and, no, I don't work for Logos. Reverend, it is worth the price that it takes to create this software and I believe God is ultimately glorified because people can really study His Word.

I have no problems spending money for a good product. And Logos is exactly that - a very good product. I have spent a lot on Logos and have been more than satisfied with not only their product, but their customer service as well.
