Will Logos 4 run on my laptop?

I have L4 installed on my desktop (Vista), but I was wondering if my laptop would be able to run L4? I have read the minimum specs for L4, but I don't really understand them.

I do know that I would have to upgrade to XP Service pack 3.

I like the new features of L4, but any opinions if I should I stay with L3 on my laptop.

Ronald,

Your CPU is only single core and slow. You should have at least 2 GB of memory, three would be ideal with an XP machine. Your video card uses upto 256MB of system memory (which is already in short supply) and uses the already overtaxed CPU. Your HD is very small, so you might not even have enough room to install L4.

That said there is nothing stopping you from installing it and seeing if it will run. Just don't be surprised is it runs L4 very slowly.

128 MB DirectX 9 graphics device - YOU: ATI RADEON Xpress 1150Xpress 1150 with 256MB HyperMemory [probably]
Internet connection required for activation - YOU: well you're logged on here. so probably.

Unresolved:

XP SP3 is required for using .NET 3.5
A DVD drive is required, if installing via DVD
Do you have at least 12GB of free space on your HD?
Is your video card DirectX9 compatible (check with your card manufacturer)? It probably is, unless your card is more than about 3 years old.

The one red flag for sure is XP SP2. You need to upgrade to SP3. As for the rest, you might squeak by, but I'd expect L4 to be a bit sluggish.

I think that even if you upgrade to XP SP3 your laptop will be underpowered. I think you might be able to run L4 but doubt you'll enjoy it.

Thanks for the replies. As much as I like L4 I will probably just stay with L3 on my laptop for now.

I'm running L4 on an older laptop somewhat successfully. It has crashed when trying to handle maps -- highly intensive graphical things -- but otherwise it's working alright, though not at tip-top speed (it takes 20-30 seconds to load up for me; I wonder what others are getting with more powerful specs).

I have:

Intel Pentium M 1.6GHz, 14" screen, 1.5GB RAM, ATI Mobility/Radeon 9000 with 64MB video RAM, 250GB Hard drive space, running XP SP3.

Not ideal, but my Thinkpad T42 is still kicking!
