Lectionary file location, lectionary xml reference?

I read the article on creating one's own lectionary (http://www.logos.com/training/Lectionary), and realistically, it looks like so much work that I'm probably not going to do it, anyway. But I can't even fool around with a beginning attempt because the instructions say to locate it in a lectionaries folder in the “Libronix DLS” folder in my Documents folder, but I can't find a “Libronix DLS” folder anywhere on my computer! Some other instructions in that article don't work, so I'm guessing it was written for something earlier than Logos 5. Can anyone tell me where the lectionary files are located?

And while I'm asking, it would be handy to know what xml tags are already defined for the lectionary; is there a list or other type of reference?

Hi Charles, welcome!

That page is for Logos 3 and is no longer supported in Logos 4/5. To create a lectionary in Logos 5, the latest version of Logos, you create a Personal Book:

Gosh, it seems odd that Logos would still have pages that look current that don't state what version of Logos they are, and are NOT valid for. I just searched the Logos site for help on lectionaries and navigated to that page.

Many thanks for giving me the correct information! I'll look into those. A quick glance makes it look like it's still going to be complicated, so I'm probably not going to do this, anyway. (I'm an Orthodox Christian, and I'd love to have a lectionary in my Logos, but our calendar doesn't match any offered by Logos.) But I am grateful to know where the right place to look is, anyway. Thanks!

Note that lectionary support for PB's was only added to the latest beta earlier this week. It will probably be a couple of months before it turns up in the stable version of Logos. You can switch over to the beta channel to try it out, but I wouldn't advise it unless you know what you're doing. Beta software can be very buggy (and this particular one is, from what I understand).

I'm fairly certain MJ is already working on several Orthodox lectionaries (see e g http://community.logos.com/forums/p/27959/362074.aspx#362074), so if I were you I'd save myself the trouble for now.[:)] She'll probably turn up on this thread later, so you can ask her if she's got your particular one.

In general we have a wiki that is in flux with the majority of articles based on v4.5/4.6; not necessarily being up to date with 4.6a/4.6b but generally applicable to v5. In some cases I've commented that v5 has a different/better implementation of a v4 feature or workaround. The few new articles state that they are intended for v5 and we've tried to direct users via http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_Bible_Software_Wiki.

The wiki Search is where the biggest loopholes will be found, so if there are other cases please let me know.

No need for you to apologize. Unless I'm very much mistaken, Charles' remarks were about the logos.com page mentioned in the OP, not about your Wiki page. But the clarification was a good idea anyway.

At this point I've tried the new format for the Season of Creation http://seasonofcreation.com/worship-resources/readings/ There are still a few issues to be resolved before I'll be doing any major push. Current issues:

dates must be entered manually making continuous updating mandatory
PB lectionary resource doesn't appear in the Passage Guide
only Biblical references supported (eliminates Office of Readings and traditional Lenten readings of the Byzantine church) - I'm still testing Psalms of Solomon, 4 Ezra etc.
I need to improve the template I use in Word.
I'm still testing historical lectionaries where applying anything other than liturgical dates is unnecessary.
I'm still scratching my head over LXX vs. MT references ... hoping we'll get a better LXX translation soon.
time - I really need to finish a BibleTech presentation rather than testing a beta feature - at least that sounds like a better excuse than running around handling totaled car, sick friend and Mother's 98th birthday.[;)]

Wow -- thanks! I'm excited that very much more knowledgeable people than I apparently are interested in an Orthodox lectionary, and I will be just delighted if one comes to pass. It's clear from reading responses here, and the link you sent me, that this is way over my head...
