The People’s Bible: Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah http://www.logos.com/product/4775/the-peoples-bible-nahum-habakkuk-zephaniah is today's twitter deal. Does anyone have this commentary set? Is it worth grabbing?
Not sure, but I have never been motivated to get it. Plus, I don't twit.
I have the whole set of People's Bible Series. It is wirtten as a commentary of the Congregation or every day readership. It is not technical. The writers of the series is from the WELS Lutheran a very conservative evangelical Lutheran synod. It is 3rd in size to the ELCA and LCMS and "we" do not have fellowship with the 2 larger synods. I personally find everything said in the series correct.

IT is a very Christ centric commentary (Christ/ implications to Christ are made very liberally throughout the OT, which is nice). I was raised in the Evangelical Lutheran Church Canada, I find this series often quite insightful and has a great devotional quality to it, even if I may disagree with the interpretation at times (I am not as conservative as many of the authors, but value their work). Any lutheran should love it, and has plenty to offer all Christians.
