Somebody help the newbie

I'm trying to figure faithlife.com out. I've watched the videos of what is coming and what features it has. I'm pretty excited about the potential, but haven't figured it out yet.

Can someone tell me how to find groups I might be interested in? When I do a search it just comes up with a long list of names and I can't tell from those whether I would want to be in that group or not.

What is the best way to get connected as a new person on Faithlife?

Also, I looked up one of the seminaries I graduated from and there is a group, but it has no members. Can anyone tell me what that means? Does that mean that they created a group, but no one joined it? Or am I misunderstanding the member number?

Logos created groups for every single church and seminary in North America. Most of them are empty because nobody in those organizations has discovered Faithlife yet. If there's nobody yet in your church or seminary using it, you could drum up interest among fellow congregants or alumni, or in a Bible study home group you might be in. Faithlife is meant to be used in groups.

Some groups have been set up that are not based on physical co-location. For example OT Quotes in NT, Logos Read the Fathers, Logos PageTurners, FSB Users, and Typo Corrections are ones that I've learned about through people mentioning them on the forums. Sometimes once you join one group you can find out about other groups that members in that group are also in. But most of those groups have not had any activity for at least the past two months. Hardly encouraging to keep participating, to say the least

Logos has not made it very easy to find existing groups you might be interested in joining. You can do a search in the Groups search box at the top of the main Faithlife page for keywords such as your city or denomination or a topic. But good luck finding any groups with members in them that are open groups. They need to provide a way to filter out all the empty groups from the search results, and do a general search for ANY open groups with at least <n> members in them, for example. The way it works now is kind of lame and I doubt they are getting much traction on people actually sticking with it for very long. I've given up participating in the groups I am in.

I can guarantee Dorothy Day would know what to do with FaithLife. First, she'd send a strongly worded letter to Logos. Then she'd start organizing her groups. That's really not true, since most of her groups couldn't afford it.

They need to provide a way to filter out all the empty groups from the search results,

Will need a switch so that we can find our church and have someone claim it. [[if not claimed would be an empty group]]

They did improve the search a couple of weeks ago. Now it will list the group you are looking for closer to the top of the list. However, the list is just as long. I asked what change they made to get the group higher but got no answer. I thought it might of been by members in the group. What they need is a search that eliminates things based on your parameters.
