disappearing toolbar?

Normally when reading a resource on my iPad, I can tap near the middle of the screen to bring up a toolbar across the top. It has a back arrow, ToC button for current resource, Favorites pull down menu, share button, etc.

Today I noticed these did not show up as usual. I can access Favorites by using the left sidebar, and the ToC by tapping on the resource name on the top of the screen. But this arrangement is not nearly as useful.

How can I recover the normal iPad toolbar?

Sounds strange - I don't know what would have caused this change. A few questions:

Is this the "Bible!" app or one of the other Logos apps?
What version are you running?
Which model iPad?
What version of iOS?
Are you seeing the behaviour you describe in all resources?

Hi Graham. Yikes I should have provided that information as a standard courtesy. Here goes.

This is the Verbum app, version 3.2.4 build 2051. Not sure the iPad model but it is about a year old, the iOS is 6.1.2. Every resource I have tried does this, about half a dozen at this point.

Try killing it via the multitask bar. Also try a FULL shut down of the device (press and hold the top button on your iPad for up to five seconds… if prompted, use the slider to power down). If that doesn't work, please provide screen shots (press and hold the top button, then quickly press the center button… the screenshot will be in the iOS "photos" app).

Great news! The full restart did the trick!

An iPad can run continuously for months but it does sometimes get flaky. Thanks for the attention and feedback. JZ

I never have had any problems with mine since I started "killing" apps regularly via the multi-task bar. It might be something you want to try.
