I have repeatedly tried to remove the ESV from my prioritized resources, but it always returns within about five seconds. It simply won't go away! Is this a bug or is there some reason Logos requires the ESV to be on the priority list?
Rick, I am able to successfully remove ESV, shut down, restart and have it stay off the list. My guess is this is a bug of some kind.
Rick
I tried to duplicate your experience, but I could not even remove ESV from the list. I got the spinning pizza with each attempt. On the third (?) attempt A5 went away. Log attached.

I don't know if the Indexer log will be of any use, but I'll send it anyway

Did you try to remove it using the Context Menu option or by clicking and dragging it? I only tried the Context Menu, but I will try click and drag as well to see if I get any crashes.
I am not able to drag and remove the ESV. Is that by design? Is that what you guys have been trying to do?
Rick - i rigged your computer to my preferred Bible. [:)]
hope it gets fixed for u. blessings on your day my friend!
@Joe, No, I was right clicking on it in the priority list and selecting "remove from list."
Now, here's something very interesting. I opened the list this morning, and it wasn't there. Then I saw movement--it came back! And then it disappears and comes back again. Over and over. Very bizarre behavior, so this is obviously a bug.
@Bob, no offense intended. I've just never warmed to the ESV, so I really don't need it in the priority list :-)
its a sign
lol now that was funny!
Very bizarre behavior, so this is obviously a bug.
Does anyone know though, are we supposed to be able to click and drag books in and out f the priority list? I don't care either way, I just don't know if it is a bug or intentional that we cannot drag and drop books.
Joe, the video on the Logos website shows resources being added to the list by dragging. I tried it a moment ago and it worked fine (although my ESV is still appearing and disapperaing). It wouldn't let me drag a resource off the list though, which seems slightly incosistent (especially on a Mac!).
I tried doing the same thing in the Windows version and I get the same behavior (sans the appearing and disappearing ESV)..
I was using the right-click menu

I was able to drag items on to the list. The ESV is the only one I have tried to delete, and L4 crashed then.
Dragging onto the list seems the best way to be as it allows me to place resources in the list just where i want them with minimum operations.
Then I agree with Rick. If we can drag items on to the list, it makes sense that we should also be able to drag them off the list. That is my suggestion :-)
In situations like this, it's often helpful to post a log (in this case, Logos4.log) so we can see what is happening under the hood. It's possible that this is a sync issue (or related) and hopefully the logs will give us some insight.
Cameron
My logs are posted in the third message of this thread.
Cameron, Jack posted his crash log above. Is there more you want from Rick? (I am assuming my logs wont help since I get no crashes)
You'll have to remind me how to retrieve a log. I haven't done that yet.
And speaking of sync issues, the ESV does not show up (which is correct behavior) in the priority list in L4/Win.
Joe: I was specifically hoping to see Rick's logs (the disappear/reappear experience) as well. I should've been more clear about which logs I was hoping to see .
Jack: Thanks for posting your logs. I suspect that while the issues are near one another, they may not be identical (beachball vs. appear/reappear issue). I should've been more specific.

Okay, attached is my log. To help identify the problem, I launched L4/Mac, clicked on the library icon, clicked on the Prioritize tab, and allowed the ESV to appear and disappear a total of five times.

I agree that Rick's problem is far more interesting than mine. [8-|]
Just for fun, here's a little video screen capture of the appearing and disappearing ESV. It's about 40 seconds long and the ESV appears twice.

LOL.. funny video.
Definitely more interesting than a simple crash. Technically, mine didn't crash. It just went away.
I haven't experienced this, but I love the post title and it's reference to ESV...[:P]
all about Christ,
David
Well before we start a flame war, I'm not saying the ESV is a bad penny, just that I can't get rid of it in the priority list in a similar way to the old saying about trying to get rid of a bad penny.
I don't personally use the ESV that much, but if others do, more power to them.
How dare you speak ill of Penny's. I love Pennys. It is a great place to shop!
Oh wait, maybe you meant the other kind of penny... [;)]
Isn't that always how these things get started... LOL
Maybe the ESV paid Logos a little extra to keep their Bible prioritized no matter what
No flame war, just a mostly innocent observation...It's all good. [:D]
