Hi Where do I insert a milestone for a verse reference in a personal Bible? I.e., before the verse reference in the text? after? end of sentence? Thanks!
The Bible text is in Portuguese. The language on the book is set to Portuguese both within Word and in the Personal Book collection. I entered text thus into my file:
I received the following errors in the log file:

OK, I'm having a long conversation here with myself, not because I've been unattended, but because I'm working on this directly and found the "cure". I needed to set the language for my personal Bible to "English" and not to "Portuguese." The text is now tracking in the window. However, is there a way to set the Bible language to "Portuguese" and still have it track? Also, any cool ways to insert chapter/verse milestones really quickly?

I believe that you have to use the local book names when compiling a PBB in a particular language. I don't speak Portuguese so forgive me if my suggested translation is incorrect, but perhaps you could try using Gênesis or Gên as the book name?
Thank you, Mark. Yes, your suggestions for the names in Portuguese were perfect. My version of Logos is installed with English as the primary language. If I use Portuguese book names, will it still track with English texts (i.e., NASB)?Once again, thank you.

Yes. The language for the book names needs to be the same as the language you choose for the compiled book. The compiler will then recognise those book names, and the book will track with Bibles/Commentaries written in any language.
Thank you, once again. I will be sure to tell my Brazilian friends who have logos installed with the Portuguese interface that, and I guess I'll make two versions, with with English tags and one with Portuguese?
So how do people who set up Logos with Portuguese as their primary language access English materials? If you have time you could answer that. If not, no worries!
Sorry if I haven't been clear. There's no need for two versions. It doesn't matter what language the Logos interface is in. It only matters what language is specified for the personal book:
If you specify Portuguese here, then the names of the Bible books that you use in your milestones must also be in Portuguese. If you specify English here, then the names of the Bible books should be in English. It doesn't matter what language the user interface is in. You can therefore share the same version of your Personal Book with anyone - all they need to do is specify Portuguese when they compile the book.

Now you have to delineate the bible text from all other text such as verse numbers and milestones, else you will get no results from a Bible Search e.g.
1[[@Bible:Gen 1:1]] {{field-on:bible}}No princípio, Deus criou os céus e a terra. {{field-off:bible}} 2[[@Bible:Gen 1:2]] {{field-on:bible}}Era a terra sem forma e vazia. OK, what did I do wrong? All milestones are showing. I copied what follows from the PB:
IN the log, they are categorized as "[Warning] Unrecognized milestone Bíblia:Gên 3:24"
It appears that Logos does not recognize the book abbreviations in Portuguese. Try replacing all occurrences of Gên with Gênesis, and that should work.
And I presume that should be reported as a bug separately.
It appears that Logos does not recognize the book abbreviations in Portuguese.
However, it does still recognise syntax in English e.g. Bible:Gênesis 1:4]] {{field-on:bible}} are still recognised with language set to Portuguese.
Thank you both for your orientations. Things are progressing!
Can you decipher these log entries for me?
[Warning] Consecutive duplicate Milestone Start for data-type bible: bible.1.2[Warning] Consecutive duplicate Milestone Start for data-type bible: bible.23.15
I searched for them in the document, but could not find them
Thank you
bible.1.2
This means a reference to Genesis 2.
bible.23.15
This is a reference to Isaiah 15.
The warning of a consecutive duplicate milestone means that you have two entries for these references, and only one is needed. It won't actually affect your finished resource, so if you can't find them it won't matter too much.
Hey Mark, I have been patiently waiting for the Nova Versão Internacional to become available in Logos... I noticed that the Sociedade Bíblica do Brasil have released a lot of material in Portuguese, which is great, but the NVI is a classic and should be on Logos.
Hey Mark, ...the NVI is a classic and should be on Logos.
You should address that to Logos, as Mark Barnes is a user like yourself (albeit with a Star to denote he is recognised by Logos as a valued person who knows the product quite well).
Acrtually, I think CharisPistis (mind if I call you CP for short??) was addressing that to me, Mark Ellis. I am assuming you are Brazilian, CP, então, vou para portugues. Sou deão masculino no Seminário do Sul no Rio (STBSB/FABAT), e professor adjunto no CIEM e no SBPV. Tudo de melhor em Cristo,
Mark
I should add that I have been greatly assisted by the Logos staff, who have been very patient and helpful in assisting me to tag the NVI.
