Logos 5 newsfeed down and shutdown problems

After using Logos and Libronix for many many years, I installed Logos 5 with Windows 8. The following problems persist. Logos 5 will not show newsfeeds, and has to be forced to shut down. The programme will not do so by itself. Has anybody else experienced the same problem and what is the solution?

It sounds like you have a Mac as there are many reports of forced shutdowns, but you have Windows 8!

As for "newsfeeds" I take it you refer to the Home page, but could you be specific as to which item(s) on the Customize list? To avoid loading the Home Page at startup open a blank layout as per http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_Not_Starting. From there you can create and save a layout(workspace) and get Logos to start with that layout by going to Tools >> Program Settings >> "At Startup open to"...

Thanks Dave. I use Windows 8. The problem is that there are no new news from Logos like Logos Blogs, release notes, etc appearing, so I receive no communication from Logos as in the past, just a blank screen.

The shutdown problem is in Windows 8. When I do a search only my library is accessed, not tje internet resources like sermons, etc.

Do you have all these checked in the Customize list?

As you see there is no problem getting the information, but it took longer than normal and I thought it might stall/freeze in my Windows 8.

Explain what you mean by "search" & shutdown. Do you mean the GO bar at the top left of my screen shot? Give an example of what you are searching for. Does the program crash? If so upload your Logos Log Files folder as per http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging.

Thank you very much. The problem is partly resolved. It seems that not all the features must be switched on. Only those you indicated. Now only two questions remain:

1 Sermons. logos. com, Graceway media. com and sermonaudio.com as well as sermoncentral.com will not open

Mike, you really need to supply more information. I'm guessing these are in Passage Guide and they do "open"/work for me! What passage/verse did you use, because it is possible that there is no information for certain passages?

You haven't supplied a description of what you are doing at the time, and I also need to see some logs as per the link in my earlier post, above.
