Must a non-transliterated Philippians and Jude commentary be expensive?

Do I have to pay a lot just to get individual volumes of commentaries that have non-transliterated Greek? I'm thinking of getting the volume that deals with Jude in the A-company software instead of Logos, since they sell it $6 cheaper. (I would be missing things like some years from now - when the Logos tagging has been remade, to be able to simply click an Aristotle reference.)

I've been intensely discussing commentaries this month since I have to make a big decision regarding what path to choose for reading and studying together with a friend. Same books for both of us make it expensive. EDIT: Until tonight I was not sure which book(s) of the NT I would like us to focus on. First I thought about 1 Pt and Jude, EDIT: but now I have changed my mind a little: I'm dropping 1 Pt and going with Philippians instead, and still Jude!

Do You have suggestions which commentary would be cheap?

After this afternoon I will take a break from the forums.

J. B. Lightfoot's commentary on the Greek text of Philippians. No, it is not the newest. More like fine wine, still one of the best ever aged to perfection. I doubt there is a serious commentary on Philippians that doesn't refer to Lightfoot. And just $13.95.

I have no suggestions but sometimes we get what we pay for. That is are the "Cheap" ones worth the money??

Kelvin, I agree that Witherington's Socio Rhetorical commentary is very good. I use it. But his question was for one that does not use transliteration, and Witherington's does. It is also $35, and he was asking for an inexpensive one.

Lightfoot is a great commentary on the Greek text, and it is a classic. It is still very good.
