galaxy s3 highlighting and deleting highlights

Long press on the highlight, when the black bar comes up scroll the black bar over to remove annotations.

Many thanks.  I knew there had to be away, I just couldn't find it.

Another way of deleting the highlights is to choose "Edit Note" or "Edit Highlight" and there will be a "Delete" button at the bottom of the editor window that pops up. Just a heads up because the "Remove Annotations" option will be going away soon...it was only ever added as a temporary measure until we completed note editing support.
