Make Logos smarter in detecting verses

If I paste a section of Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, or similar resources into a Note, like this one:

Many of the scripture verses are not links to Bible verses because of the notations that surround them. It would be great if Logos would recognize all of these!

Do ALL resources that have 'weird 'Scripture notation ALL use the same 'weird' notation? Writing a Scripture detector that would work for "Treasury of Scripture Knowledge" could be done. [any competent programmer could have a first pass working in an hour or so - getting a polished product would take longer] But how many other resources use '*' '+*' '+**' '**' '+' '+ ' in the EXACT same way? [And does '+' (plus) and '+ ' (plus space) mean the same thing?] [[And my favorite is when do we get rid of 3:1,2 and replace it with 3:1-2]]

Actually, I think with the use of regular expressions, which the developers probably already use in the code, it would be pretty easy to filter any non-letter/non-numbers/spaces out of a character string, to then examine it to see if it matches a scripture reference notation. Regular expressions take all this complexity out that you show.

Also, as I said, this is not just one resource, there are others in this genre of resources, albeit a small group. But cross references are a big part of Bible study, homiletics, etc.

Don, may I ask you what resource is this? (It is not identical to my copy the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge on Jo 20:31).

Are you adding the symbols yourself in the note file or are they there in the original source, because if they are, shouldn't they be already linked?

I thought John 5.1,2 <> John 5.1-2 Or maybe usage is not that tight.

From Word - Copy from NTSK into Word, paste as text. Then copy from there, paste into Note.

What happens if you copy form NTSK and paste into Note without using Word? Word is known for putting hidden JUNK into what looks like TEXT.

edit: Or maybe save the WORD file into an RTF format - close and reopen then copy from word and paste into Note. [[might clean out any hidden JUNK]]

Pasting into Word as text strips out the hyperlinks (that may have been manually corrected, due to ambiguity, when the resource was created). Logos does as good a job as it can to restore the hyperlinks when pasting back from Word, but it can't tag every one 100% correctly.

I recommend skipping the middleman and simply pasting from NTSK directly into a note; this will preserve all the hyperlinks.
