Trempen Longman Intro to OT vs Encountering the OT

I'm in need of a good OT introduction. I've had Encountering the OT and plan to re-purchase it again, but would like to know which one is better: Encountering the OT or Intro to the OT by Trempen Longman III. I liked the version of Encountering the OT but from what I see in the website it no longer has the images that it used to have, so I don't know. Anyway, any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I have both in paper. Bill Arnold/Bryan Beyer surely is a treat in terms of colourful photographs and maps (sad that they left the graphics out of the Logos version - probably because publishers had the wrong kind of licence contracts with image rightholders back then). Other than that, both are "good introductions". I'd rate Tremper Longman/Raymond Dillard at a slight bit more advanced level - less pictures means more text, and they have the more exhaustive and deeper bibliographies for further study.

FWIW, the Denver Seminary lists both, but gives the star to Arnold/Beyer (but much praise goes to the image content not in Logos)

Well, thanks for your brief feedback. I'm thinking to get both, that way they can both supplement one another; even though it's disappointing that Logos has not included all the images in the Encountering the OT volume. Oh well, hopefully something can be worked out in the future to get access to those.

Not sure if this will affect your decision either way - but the Longman book is used at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in their intro to the OT classes.
