Signing In doesn't stop

I choose Logos 5 icon, then login, then the Signing In box comes up with the rotating circle and nothing ever happens after that. I finally just have to hit the X in the top right and close it. I have not gotten to use Logos 5 yet! What is wrong? (Using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.)

We'd need more logs to diagnose this thoroughly but from what you have here, there is less than two minutes between starting and shutting down Logos. You may just want to give it more time for Logos to call home. There is a line in the log that Logos client is calling Logos to log you in, but then 3 hundredths of a second later (11:15:41 to 11:15:44), the App status changes to "Aborted." If this is typical, I'd recommend just giving Logos more time to call home and complete the initial login.

If this is not typical, that is, if you usually do give Logos more time to load and it still doesn't work, we'll need more logs. Please enable logging by carefully following all the instructions in this link: http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging

Then start Logos, let it run for a few minutes (give it at least five), before exiting and follow the instructions in the following link for uploading your logs to this forum: http://wiki.logos.com/Uploading_Logs Make sure to post all the log and txt files with today's time stamp, not just the ones you think are relevant.

Logos.com kind of buggy today, sometimes it doesnt load. I think they are still expiriencing server issues

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have let it run longer in the past, just didn't have the patience when executing the log. In fact, I let it run down a fully charged laptop battery before to see if it would ever quit. It did not. So here is a 5-6 minute log, hope this helps. Thanks in advance for your time.

I have not gotten to use Logos 5 yet! What is wrong?

Logos 5 appears to be unable to contact our servers to sign in and download your licenses and library. The exact cause isn't identified in the logs, but this is typically due to over-zealous anti-virus or firewall programs. Please try disabling any Internet security software (or make a specific exception for Logos) and sign in again.

If the problem persists, please call our CS department, who may be able to take a look at your computer remotely (assuming the same problem doesn't block remote assistance) and identify the issue.

And it shouldn't matter (for this specific problem), but you are now running a slightly older version of the program. As soon as you do log in, Logos 5.1 will want to update to 5.1b; you can save some time by downloading and running the installer now to get yourself up to the latest version: https://www.logos.com/installation

(If you haven't downloaded any resources yet, I would strongly recommend downloading 5.1b right away. The latest resources can only be downloaded by 5.1b, so you'll save time and bandwidth by starting with that version.)
