Update Now ?

Do we need an "Update Now" button for Android.

With my earlier Android 2.1 phone the Library used to update whenever I started Logos and had a internet connection.

With Android 4.3 on my new Nexus 7 we never seem to sign in again and update the Library unless we do a system re-boot (exiting and restarting the app no longer finds recently purchased resources, nor does it cause these new resources checked to be sent to the device per the desktop version to download). Seems like with the new O/S version the app never really exits (even when you kill the task (using Norton Utilities) it resumes where it left off rather than re-launching)

I am unable to reproduce this issue on my Nexus 7 running Android 4.3. When I back out of the app and access it again, newly ordered resources appear and are indexed - and resources defined on the desktop to be downloaded to the device do indeed download. Are you sure you are backing out of the app?

To add another piece of information, there's a difference between "backing out" of an app by pressing the back button and "leaving the app" by pressing the home button. If you leave the app by pressing the back button repeatedly until the app is no longer visible, the app should sync the next time you open it.

Yes, I agree, backing out (as opposed to hitting the home button) does indeed re-sync and download new resources.

However, the way I work with the app, backing out involves backing out a major number of steps (close to 20 ? - did not do an exact count)

An "update now" button would be a lot cleaner and would avoid the need to stop doing everything with the app and start over in locating the set of resources recently used. [:)]

I agree - I wrote up a case for this a couple of months ago but it's not yet been implemented.

I have a Nexus 7 with Android 4.3 when I press the recent application (bottom right) and swype the logos app away and reopen Logos it updates for me.
