Your favourite Bible post?

I'am a student in Theological college and i'm learning Hebrew, our teacher told us to memorise our favourite passage and learn it in Hebrew. The problem is, i did a theology degree to refute Christianity. I want to do as Justin Martyr did (in reverse) and refute the Old Testament back on the Christians. As an atheist i'm very concerned that I see Logos in the Old testament text. I see beauty and divinity, and I don't like it. I keep trying to form passages into my own interpret but I can't pull myself away from the beautiful attraction of the word in the Old Testement.
Sorry, does anyone have a bible verse to hold me? To me Christianity is a false idol, or at least it should be, if i didn't feel such love toward the word, I wouldn't be writing here.
Anyone? I'm not lost, logic is king.

Perhaps, but logic is a powerful tool in favor of Christianity - at least in the right hands. However, your post and question are thoroughly confusing. Is English your first language? "refute the Old Testament back on the Christians" is a phrase I can't make sense of.

Welcome to the forums Ann. [:)]
Just a reminder: The forums are for discussions about Logos Bible Software and its resources. The forums aren't intended to be used for theological discussions.
One of my favorite OT verses is Micah 6:8:
"No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good,
and this is what he requires of you:
to do what is right, to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with your God. "

We are not allowed to discuss theology in the forums, but here's part of one famous verse:
לַמְנַצֵּ֗חַ לְדָ֫וִ֥ד אָ֘מַ֤ר נָבָ֣ל בְּ֭לִבּוֹ אֵ֣ין אֱלֹהִ֑ים
Did I read right? Are you an atheist? Shouldn't you be in an Atheological college instead?LOL...just messing with you [:P] so please don't get offended.
Anyway, you will always see Logos (The Word) in the Old Testament, because the Old Testament is the New Testament concealed and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. Hence, if you're trying to put one against the other all I can say is, as Marco from Tropoja said, "Good luck!" No matter how hard you try, is not gonna happen.
Have a good night!

Welcome [:D] to the Logos Bible Software forums.
The Shema, Deuteronomy 6:4-9 comes to mind, which has a reference in Matthew 22:37-39
Logos resource => https://www.logos.com/product/10168/evidence-for-christianity was written by Josh McDowell, who set out to write a book that would make an intellectual joke of Christianity; the resulting compilation of evidence is compelling.

I keep trying to form passages into my own interpret
I too welcome you here. I would encourage you to seek God with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 says "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." If you are serious about this, the tools in Logos Bible Software will help you learn how to study the Bible and open a new world of understanding. God will continually reveal himself to you as you seek Him.

Greetings Annmarie. <\P>
I respect your honesty and love of the Word. I assume that by "refute the Old Testament back on the Christians" you mean that you want to prove that the Old Testament contradicts and invalidates the New Testament. Is that correct? <\P>
Are you of the Jewish religion? Not that it matters, but you state that you are an atheist but love the Word, and I have Jewish friends who feel similarly. They love the Old Testament for reasons of heritage and beauty, but are not believers in God. Of course, many in the Jewish faith are believers in God and Scriptures.<\P>
Many Old Testament Scriptures are quoted in the New Testament. I would think that it might be important for you to understand how the New Testament writers interpreted the Old Testament Scriptures. I recommend the "Commentary on the New Testament Use of the Old Testament". Don Carson is one of the editors, and it is available in Logos. <\P>
Of course, the only Bible the first Christians had was the Old Testament, until the New Testament books were written.<\P>
Isaiah 53 is a chapter quoted in the New Testament as speaking of the crucifixion of Jesus. You may want to compare Isaiah chapter 53 with Acts 8:26-40 in the New Testament and 1 Peter 2:21-25. Also Psalm 22 is another Old Testametn passage that the New Testament applies to Jesus. Also, there is the Apostle Peter's use of Psalm 16:8-11 and Psalm 110:1 and in his sermon of the Day of Pentecost. (Acts 2:22-39)<\P>
Logos has lots of Christian apologetics material. You may want to read some of that. You can search the Logos website for apologetics. However, no argument is going to convince you that Jesus is God in human flesh. I would urge you to just read these and other Scriptures with an open mind. Give the God that you do not believe in a chance to speak to your heart. It may be that you find more than just beauty in the Scriptures.<\P>
I wish you well in your search for truth. <\P>
