Comparing Faithlife & Logos Bible app

First, I am glad to see that I can use the Logos Bible app on my Kindle Fire HDX. I was just doing a little research and found this article: http://www.wisereader.com/2012/08/try-the-faithlife-study-bible-for-free-until-march-2014/

According to the author, Faithlife is only free until March 2014. Is this correct? How is this app different than what I've got through the Logos Bible app.

The article is obsolete. Logos has changed their marketing strategy, I believe.

That's good. I read the last part of that post. I'm glad Logos is not using a subscription model.

As for my original topic, I'm trying to see which Bible app is best for what circumstance. Right now, I have FaithLife Study Bible, Logos Bible and YouVersion. This doesn't include the three study Bibles stored on my Kindle Fire.

I currently engage in a weekly Bible study and the group decided to do a book of the Bible. Each week, we read a chapter and share a chapter title, basic & best verse and possible application. I like combining this old classic method with my eBible. I'm also involved with a prayer group where we seek to incorporate Scriptures into our prayer.

As a blog writer and someone who's seeking to get training as a lay counselor, I could use some in depth studying. Because of poor vision, it's rather time consuming to read regular prints and it can be tiring; hence my need of a Kindle.

I don't know anything about YouVersion so can't comment on that.

Both Logos apps will provide access to the same set of resources in a similar way.

Both support a split-screen model allowing you to have a Bible and some form of study guide open next to each other. The Faithlife app will allows use a split-screen whereas the Bible one will go down to single screen if required.

Both apps allow you to create notes linked to the passage you are reading - either during your study or to prepare beforehand. These can either be private (for your own use) or shared with the rest of your group (if you are setup as a Faithlife group)

The Bible app allows you to carry out more advanced study options - Run a Passage Guide, conduct a Bible Word Study, compare text in different Bible versions whereas the Faithlife does not.

The Faithlife app gives you integrated access to Faithlife groups if you choose to collaborate in this way.

Hopefully this helps you determine which app to focus on at the moment - you can always change or add the other in later if required.
