Is it possible to see what updates will be downloaded BEFORE downloading them?

I know this has been asked before, but I am asking again: I would really like Logos 5 to have the ability to show me what updates will be downloaded BEFORE I choose to download them. I get the yellow notification stating that 69.5Mb of updates are available. Is this updates on certain resources? is it a program update?

Every time my program downloads it must be restarted to index etc. Sometimes a lot of time is lost. For certain updates I would accept this, but some updates can wait a while. Please add this feature to Logos 5. Libronix had the ability to show you beforehand what is available for download, and you could even choose which you want to download. I am certain it won't be so hard to add this ability to Logos 5.

You should look at the suggestions on UserVoice and vote for them OR add your own suggestion (search on "download").

Libronix 3 gave you this information. A backwards step was taken IMHO when the ability to see what resources are to be downloaded was removed in Logos 4 and continues to be missing in Logos 5. A user should have the option of seeing what resources they are so they can determine whether they want to download them now or delay the download to later and continue with their current study.

This was discussed back in the 4.0 beta program. If I recall correctly, Logos 4/5 are designed partially because all the options for things like that in Libronix cost a lot of money for free support. Also, the argument was that the next generation of users is not interested in that type of fine control.

Both issues are legitimate. But we did not like the way that Logos would take over automatically and download updates and then need hours of re-indexing to be usable - sometimes multiple times in a day. This has been mitigated considerably since the early beta days... Indexing is faster - Logos can create a partial index of new stuff without redoing the whole thing - we can set when to download stuff as program options.

What I would like to see is an option where Logos tells the user the approximate download size and asks before it does it. This way users with ISP caps can monitor their monthly usage and portable users can go for the big dl's when attached to a fast provider (eg - home or church may have different speeds)

I'm not sure what a vote in UserVoice would do for you; the problem's been around for 4 years. Maybe 4 years more voting would do the trick? On the iOS version, I pick and choose. I'm really surprised just how amazing it was that the iOS guys figured it out.

In any event, no need to talk past-tense on Libronix. It STILL lets you choose! Which is handy when you're nudging up against your cellular gig limit. One big reason, I'm really not sure I'll update Logos5 ... it's simply hog-ish in all senses of the word (downloading, major PC power, prices of resources). But to not be too negative, they're not hog-ish on user support. That's good.

The setting Automatically Download Updates = NO has been around for a long time! The notification tells you the size and allows you to accept or reject the download.

I'm not wanting control over downloading of individual titles. I just want the option to see what the titles are so I can make the call as to whether what I am getting is important to me right now or I can delay the update to a latter date. Logos has already determined what files need updating / downloading for he first time so it should not require rocket science to present me with a list of the titles and i can then say yay or nay to downloading all or none right now.

Software already does this through either through the method suggested by another poster or you can even cancel the download as soon as you see the size - what is needed in addition to a cancel option is an pause for x hours. This however does not satisfactorily answer the question of knowing what is being offered as a download. If it is say updates to dead sea scrolls then personally I probably can delay the download to a more convenient time. If it's a new resource I was wanting to include in my current study then I will probably opt to download now. Right now I can't make that choice with the current way updates are offered. The end user experience is found wanting in this aspect of the software.
