Happy New Year and may God Bless you this coming Year.

For my question, back in Oct last year I purchased the Bronze Logos 5 version, I have the disks in which I installed on my Macbook Pro.  I love this program and have no issues with the Snow Leopard operating system, until this past Christmas when I got an iPad Air and when I went to download the Logos app from the website I noticed that the iPad Logos version layout does not look like my Macbook pro page version. Snow Leopard does not have the iCloud available so I called Apple and they told me to download the Maverick operating system in which I did. Lots of issues so I reinstalled my old Snow Leopard, thank goodness for backups.

I will be researching Lion operating system for the mac but until I do how do I install my bronze edition to my iPad Air?  Is it possible to hook up the iPad to my Macbook Pro and when the iPad icon shows just click and drop Logos software onto iPad like the olden days? Can anyone help me, please?

The iPad is a tablet, and does not run desktop software. Logos has a mobile app, which isn't the same as the desktop one (Logos 5).

You can access most of your resources via the mobile app (but not all), and not all features are available on mobile. The only thing you need to do:

    1. Download the mobile app from the iOS App Store
    2. Enter your credentials (username & password)
    3. You are set to go. If you want to download resources, we can help you with that too. Personally, I only recommend downloading necessary resources and accessing the rest via the cloud.

What computer do you have? What were the "issues"?

I have Macbook Pro 2011 early version. The issues I had when I installed Maverick my mouse did funny things, also I have a ViewSonic Monitor hooked up to my Macbook Pro which makes reading easier but with the Maverick my desktop background loaded different on the monitor and then my mouse would jump from computer desktop to monitor screen and I could do anything, had to shut down several times and when that didn't straighten it out I installed my old operating system.

According to the Logos website I should be getting all of the following on my iPad right?   And if the following would be what I would get, is that only if I had iCloud?

Features:  The Logos iPad app makes mobile Bible study better. See how!

Community Notes, Notes Highlighting, Languages Split screen, Social share Search, Bible Word Study, Passage Guide, Text Comparison, Custom Settings, Quick jump Reading plans, Library

For clarification: "Cloud" computing is a form of data storage and retrieval. Instead of files residing locally on your hard drive, it resides off site and is accessed online. With Logos, cloud computing is used when you purchase new resources (they download to your computer). Notes and highlights also sync "in the cloud." On the desktop application, searches and guides are run locally. On the mobile app, they are run on Logos servers "in the cloud" (hence internet is required).

The term "iCloud" is completely unrelated to Logos... It is the name of Apple branded cloud services.

The problems you described to me with Mavericks suggest to me that you could use someone to teach you how the new operating system works. Do you live near an Apple Store? Did you purchase Apple Care and is it still active?

    Kathy,

Each new operating system release brings new features that have to be configured to our needs.

One of the great advantages of having a Mac system is that the company can help almost every user because every Mac User's underlying system is the same. This means however to get the best service from Apple users need to be using the latest version of software. Apple encourages this practice by making upgrades of the operating system either free or very cheap.

Mavericks runs just fine once it is set up and you will find considerable advantages in installing it and sticking with it.

If you want some help with setting it up initially to meet your needs the small fee that Apple charges for 'One to One' tuition sessions at the Apple Store is considered real value for money by everyone that I know who has tried it.

I want to thank you all for your help. I got my iPad to work OK for me regarding the Logos and FaithLife. My Logos on my Macbook Pro works great. At a later date I will try the Maverick operating system again and contact Apple to help out.  Again thank you all for helping and God has blessed us all. Thanks
