IOS vs Windows 5.1 vs Android 4.x - who wins?

Hi everyone.

Please note right from the start I am not trying to stir up controversy or cause any dissension, but I wondered how you all feel about these questions:

If you wanted to move away from your laptop Windows version of Logos 5.0 to a portable device, which device would you use and on what platform please (Ipad Air versus Surface Pro versus Nexus 7 for example).
Does Logos 5.0 run equally well on both IOS 7 as it does on Android?
Anyone running Logos 5.0 without programming and PC Wizardry on an 8.1 Tablet yet? (ducking on this one as I know many previous strings exist on this - including some I have even responded to last year)

My real question:

Which platform/device (ignoring Windows Desktop which I use right now) most effectively runs Logos 5.0 (without a loss of a single feature) as of 1/27/14 for say under $500 - new and not used or refurbished - right now?

Please note, I want to turn on the device, load up Logos and realistically begin reading/highlighting/doing searches throughout every Logos Book in my library within 30 minutes (for the purposes of this post). I do not want to have tinker or consult a programmer or research a single post in here to make it work please.

(Also, to be fair I own a Galaxy Note 2 Android Phone with Logos on it...so if you say "Be content and use it Josh"....I totally understand).

No "mobile platform" runs "Logos 5." Your ONLY stock option is a Windows tablet (i.e. "Surface Pro"). (There are aftermarket Mac touch screen tablets, but I'm not talking about those).

To be honest with you, under $500 will be tough to do. Getting enough processor, ram, hard drive, and graphic power is going to be nearly impossible at $500. There are some tablets that would run Logos 5 for close to that, but how well they would run it is hard to say. I would look at some of the Dell offerings in their new tablet lines as closest to what you are looking for. If you only have two Gig of ram, it is hard for me to believe you are going to run Logos 5 very fast.

On the other hand, I would far rather run Logos 5 on my Surface Pro 2 than any desktop that I know. Just my opinion.

Josh, You're going to get a lot of the same answers you've already gotten in the threads you've already participated in, so lets break down your real question:

1. Nothing runs L5 like your Windows desktop. Period. Every mobile device (defined here as smart phones, iPads, and Android tablets) runs a version of Logos that loses much of the functionality of the desktop version. However, a Windows based tablet retains feature parity with your desktop version of L5 because it is actually running the same application.

2. Nothing currently on the market satisfies your requirement of sub-$500 that isn't used or refurbished AND runs L5. While prices for mobile desktop replacements are decreasing, I'm unconvinced that we'll see a nice/fast/light-weight/small/RAM packed/SD + large SDD tablet in the $500 range before the rapture of the church (even allowing for pre-mid-post trib believers; and, of course, those who abstain from a stance on the rapture entirely).

So! Although I could have been a tad more succinct, those are the unsatisfying facts, my friend. My advice is to either save for a high end Surface Pro (actually I'd wait for the next generation), or take the plunge on a refurb and get a better feel for what suits your absolute requirements.

One thing I'd note, just for general discussion, is 'exactly' what in L5 is actually 'used'.

I'm sure for lesson and speech preparation, heavy-duty tools in L5 are quite precious. Similarly for in-depth studying with original languages, I'd hate to use anything but L5 (talking about more than just greek and hebrew).

But I'd bet for the large share of Logos users (currently 2 million if I remember on the Logos advert), the mobile apps not only come close to the desired feature set, but emphasize use 'anywhere'. Real life.

I only say this, watching my own use between Libronix, L5 and my mobiles. I tend to bounce between Libby and the mobiles, with L5 as the periodic research assistant on unusual searches, or OL analysis.
