16 bit update tries to install in 64 bit program

Every time I start Logos 5 I get a notice that it wants to install an update. The error message I get is:

The program or feature

"\??\C:\Users\J\AppData\Local\Logos5\Data\gshnp3mg.udu\UpdateManager\Installers\2954\LogosSetup.ex" cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vender to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available."

So how do I get this download to stop trying to install? How do I get the program to start updating with 64-bit updates again like it was intitally.

I am not aware of a 64 bit version of logos. How are you being notified of available updates?

Welcome to the forums James! Sorry you are having troubles. [:S]

I am not a windows user, so please forgive me if this is a dumb suggestion... I remember some other users talking about "compatibility mode" being turned on (or off?). Is it possible that you have changed this setting somewhere?

Logos doesn't currently have a 64bit application due to incompatibility of some of the non-logos code.

Alabama and Fred are right - there is no 64 bit version. However I don't think compatibility mode would help as that facilitates usability with older versions of windows, not fewer or greater bits.

All that said, my computer is x64, and I run the 32 bit Logos software just fine...

Did you try to make it install somewhere other than the default? IE the %root%/program files/ folder instead of the default /users/(username here)/app data/local/logos5 ?

there are two program files folders under an x64 installation of windows. One for 32 bit software and one for x64 - the standard /program files/ folder is for x64 bit software, and the other program files folder (/program files (x86)/) is your 32bit program files folder...

Though if you are simply trying to make it install to the default location, or if this is an update, none of that applies

My best guess is that the setup program is corrupted in such a way that Windows thinks it's a 16-bit program (it's not). I suggest just downloading the latest installer directly from here: https://www.logos.com/installation

Once the latest version is installed, you should no longer get a prompt to update.
