Which commentaries have you found to be most helpful on the splitscreen mobile app? Do you use a single volume commentary, or switch manually between your favorites?
One volume commentary (ovc) or manual switch? It depends on what I'm doing... for "general" reading, I use Dallas Theological Seminary's ovc, Bible Knowledge Commentary, but for any serious digging I'll download & switch... For deep digging, my best commentary for each Bible book is usable both on my phone (4" screen) & my 7" Kindle Fire HD tablet.
I like the Bible Knowledge Commentary too.

I use "An introduction to the new testament" for intro-stuff, and sometimes "New bible commentary" as well. Multi-volume commentaries are next in line, when I need more depth or technical knowledge.

NBC is my 'go-to' one-volume commentary, too. If I want more depth, I'd use Tyndale. It's brilliant value for money, not so detailed as to make mobile reading difficult, but sufficient depth to be more than worth my time.

New Bible Commentary is also my go to commentary for mobile. After this something like IVP Bible Background Commentary Old & New Testaments (2 Volumes) is useful at times along with BKC. Tyndale is also in that second tier of commentaries I would take a look at for further information. Fathlife Study Bible can be helpful in the links it provides for other resources if you own them and dependant upon whether I have wifi connection at the time.
This thread has given me some ideas on mobile use. I have primarily been using BKC on my mobile device. Investigating the NBC and it appears to be a good choice also (if not better) for mobile use. My primary concern on mobile is space, speed, and usability. I am finding that the NBC has linkages to the pocket dictionaries which is good. The less you have to manually open up several resources on a mobile device, the better; And the less resources you have to download to the device, the better. Now, let me see how well this performs without a wifi connection. [:)]
Not mentioned is the IVP Background Commentary.
It really depends on the goal. I'm not looking to learn how to read; more to qet a quick summary on any background chatter on the verse/section. IVP surprisingly evenly covers most of the bases.
Expositors Bible Commentary is pretty good as a split screen. Good length.
When I am reading a commentary what I usually actually do though is to launch Vyrso separately and then bounce back and forth between the apps. That is the fastest for me
