Logos 4 does not start at Windows Vista

Hello,

I downloaded Logos 4 but it just does not start up. Could anybody help? Also holding ctrl while starting up logos does not work since there does not pop up a login-screen.

I have a Vista machine that I haven't used for about 4 yrs on which I think I had L4 running. I've been cannibalizing it for a friend's computer so I can't test it.

Since you're running Windows Vista, you can update to Logos 5 for free: https://www.logos.com/installation

I can't say for sure it will fix this problem, but it does contain a lot of other bug fixes and improvements. (The last line in your log--"Hydrating resource dictionaries"--was a workaround only needed in WPF 3.5. Logos 5 is based on WPF 4.5 and doesn't need that workaround. So it's possible that Logos 5 will start up correctly when it bypasses that step.)

Thank you for your advise. But I want to use the logos 4 platform because I can use the SESB features which do not work on logos 5 (as they told me some years ago). Maybe it is on logos 5 now but I don´t know how to find out.

"Logos 5" is just a more fancy name than Logos 4.7 - everything that works in L4 will work in L5. I only know of some SESB features (some Hebrew WIVU displays) that work only in Libronix and don't work in L4.

The Logos 5 program update coincided with the introduction of new datasets and related search features (sense and referents) and a massive overhaul of the base packages, so taken together it is justified that they increase the first version number, but the core functionality from 4.x remained fully intact.

thank you for your answer. I installed logos 5 now and it still won´t start up. It says: is not able to start anymore (translated from what it says in Dutch). Here is the log that comes with logos 5:

Please contact Tech Support about this error. They can look into your computer if necessary and make changes.

Thank you all your reply. I managed to find out that my videocard driver was too old. So I updated and Logos works fine!
