When using Auto Hide taskbar and Logos 5 maximized I cannot get the taskbar to pop up when running the mouse to the screen bottom edge.
Works for me.
One thing to check would be your video drivers (make sure they are up to date).
Also, I've had this happen sporadically in Win7 as well, and not just with Logos. There doesn't seem to be a predictable factor that does this. However, rebooting the computer seems to fix it. Have you tried that?
Works for me too.
mm.
Yes, the drivers are all up to date. Rebooting the system seems necessary more than it ought to be in Win 8 and has been done. I have a Win 8 desktop at my shop I will try it on. It works on my Win 7 home desktop but I've never had any issues with Win 7, or XP for that matter. I was hoping for someone at Logos to answer.
It's more a minor inconvenience than anything since it makes it difficult to copy/paste to MS Word.
Thanks.

I seem to be missing something. How does the auto-hide feature affect the ability to copy and paste into Word? Highlight, <ctrl-c>, <ctrl-v> works whether the taskbar hides or not. Oh, if you're using the taskbar icon to bring Word to the front, try <alt-tab>.

As you might conclude with others who use Logos and Win8, the problem does not seem to be Logos nor Win8 itself. I would suspect something else going on in your system, or your setup, or something you have running is conflicting with Logos and causing this symptom (are there any other problems with your system?). Since it's very unlikely a problem in Logos that's causing your issue, you're not likely to get help from Logos programmers to solve a problem that is elsewhere in your system.
However looking through the Windows forums suggest one possible cause is overrunning the taskbar with icons and/or running programs. One way to tell if this is happening is by looking at the far right of the taskbar: is there an arrow there that you click to see more programs/shortcuts. Could this be your issue? If so, try reducing the number of program shortcuts on your taskbar. You could also look at the system tray, and allow Windows to hide more of those icons to free up more space for running programs and pinned shortcuts. If you want to pin lots of programs, consider another solution than the Win8 taskbar. A program like StarDock's Launch 8 or a similar program might work (I use Dell Dock in Win7, which is simply a Dell version of Stardock's Object Dock. Launch8 is Stardocks solution for Win8).
One work-around is to minimize and then maximize all your programs. Not a very elegant solution, but a simple one. It might work (might not), though there seem to be multiple causes for this issue.
Another workaround may be to hit the WinKey (that key on your keyboard with the Windows Logos on it). In Win7, this brings up the StartMenu, but also the taskbar. (I have no idea if this will work with Win8 or not.)
Finally, you can suspect a conflict with another running program. Does this occur when Logos is the only program running? If so, try shutting down programs running in the system tray (all except your anti-virus)--shut them down one-by-one, checking Win8's behavior each time. If the problem does not occur when Logos is the only one running, reintroduce running programs one at a time to find the culprit.
If none of that works, you can try looking through some of the tech solutions or user forum solutions at microsoft.com or other tech boards -- unless someone more brilliant than me shows up here with the answer of course. [;)]
W8 (& now, 8.1) is a bit less flaky on my laptops than W7 was, but it's still flaky.
Autohide & many other features work normally after every reboot, but eventually it (& other features) stop working correctly. Sometimes, putting it to sleep & waking it up will get things working ok for awhile, but eventually reboot is required.
Logos isn't as well behaved with the taskbar being in front as other apps are. When it gets in front, after a while, the task bar can't get in front of it & ergo I can't see it even if it isn't hidden any more. Usually, alt tab will get me to another app, & then the task bar will come up in front as it's supposed to. In contrast to others, I do see it as more of a Logos issue than with other apps, but I still think W8.1 is flaky, as eventually I'll have to reboot & then things work fine for awhile.
Blessings!
Well, I have known Win 8 was, as you say, flaky for some time. As a Computer Consultant I wait to purchase the "next version of Windows" until I have enough of my clients running it to warrant jumping through the hoops necessary. I bought this laptop to have a Win 8 unit and was not happy with Win 8. After installing Win 8.1 on my laptop I was happier with Win 8 but still not 'happy'. The worst part is being 'owned' by Microsoft unless you're aware that you should use a "Local" account login.
Anyway, the reason I wrote initially was that, as you, I am convinced that Logos is a misbehaving app. I still haven't had time to set up and test my Win 8 desktop. This touchscreen laptop's screen resolution is a little low at 1366x768 and I suspect Logos is just not dealing with that resolution properly.
And Blessings to you as well. In Jesus precious name.

Now a full time pastor, I retired after 25 years in IS at a large aerospace corporation--1/4 programing in the CAD/CAM arena, but 3/4 management... built pc's as a hobby... still love to play with them... I'm convinced L5 isn't well behaved in a number of respects, though I've been a Logos fan since early 90's & v 1.6.
I ran Tech Support departments for smaller companies in New Jersey for some years but came back to my home town in Northern NY to marry a classmate I met at my high school 20th class reunion 25 years ago. I have been young but now I am old but I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread. Two years later He saved us.
Yes, Logos is an armful. It did an update of some sort yesterday and today the auto hide feature is working. I wish I had a picture to go with that; go figure!
God is faithful.
