Esv bible vs. esv study bible
Hello ! I failed to notice that to use the bible offline that you had to purchase it, not at all a big deal as it's only $10 for the regular one and I would pay far more without even thinking about it. However I saw that there's an esv study bible thats available as well. I know the differences between the two but I'm not sure it's worth it to buy the study bible. Has anyone used both or can you recommend the study bible ?

I used to use the ESV study Bible (paper edition!) a long time ago and found it very helpful.

I think The ESV Study Bible is the most complete study Bible available in the English language. I have it both in book form and in Logos. That said, the ESV is not my favorite translation, but I often keep the ESV Study Bible (the Notes) open and linked to my preferred Bible (the NASB 95) anyway.

There's a good video describing the ESV Study Bible here: http://esvstudybible.org/ I really appreciate the book introductions and especially the maps. The maps can be exported to Powerpoint and used in teaching.

The ESV is my preferred translation, and I recommend buying the study Bible notes as well. I believe they are the most well-rounded notes of all the study Bibles with which I am acquainted.

FWIW: my perferred Bible is the ESV and prefered study Bible is ESVSB. As a youth pastor I give out copies of what have affectionately become known as "the brick" because it is huge. I encourage you to get both, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

My church recently migrated from NIV to the ESV. As part of the introduction to the new text they promoted the ESV Study Bible.
I have the Study Bible Notes on my Logos and took advantage of the good online price at Westminster for the paper version. We recently sent one of our pastors to visit a supported missionary in the Philippines. He was sent with 30 copies of the ESV Study Bible as gifts for the local pastors. It was very well appreciated. We also use them as gifts for visiting speakers.
I have prioritized my ESV study bible to be just above the FSB in my library prioritization.

As one of my top five Bibles, I find the ESV to be very valuable. The notes, or ESVSB, are an wealth of macroscopic and microscopic data as well as wisdom (its difficult to find reliable material that is both informative as well as edifying). You'll bless the day you bought it, IMHO.
