GPS Location needed?

I've noticed that the latest Logos android app is triggering a GPS location lock any time it is opened on my nexus 5. Is there some feature that requires my location, and if so can I disable it? I would really rather not have to shut off my GPS manually to use my logos library without killing my battery.

Check whether you are "following presentations" under the Tools menu.

This is for environments where Logos' presentation software - Proclaim - is being used which can display information to the Logos apps.
