Layout synchronization problems

I am having problems with synchronizing layouts between 2 computers. I changed by layout with one computer and exited. Then I started the other computer and it reverted to a former layout rather than the new one I had created. This is not the first time I have seen the program revert to an older layout. It does not seem to be saving layouts when exiting the progran. I have Automatic Update and Use Internet both on.

Did you let synchronization finish before exiting the 1st computer?

After starting the 2nd computer, did you wait for synchronization to finish before loading the saved layout?

If yes, to both, I'm stumped.

If you close the program when the circling arrows are still dark, showing there syncing is needed, it doesn't save. Give it a few seconds after you make a change before you close so the syncing can occur. Or you can use the sync now command each time before you exit - but you will still need to give it time to sync to the servers.

Did you let synchronization finish before exiting the 1st computer?

I tested this a few times. I even explicitly pressed the Synchronization button before saving. It said by synchronization required.

I should mention that I have the "Show Homepage at Startup" turned off. I want the last layout I used when I exited the program to be the one at startup. But perhaps I am wrong about the assumption that this layout should save from one computer to another. I thought that if I am doing work at home and exit the computer, I ought to be able to start by office computer and continue where I left off. Does the current layout save only for an individual computer? This would actually have some advantages. I just thought that was part of synchronization.

No, that doesn't work that way. Your last (unsaved) layout doesn't sync with another computer.

To sync you'll need to name the layout, save it. Wait until synchronization finishes before closing L4 on computer one. Then open computer two, wait until synchronization finishes and then open the saved layout.

If unsaved layouts synced between computers, that list could get quite long and confusing.

If there is, I haven't seen it. But there could be. I'd be interested to look at one, if it does exist.

Basically whatever you save (notes, guides, reading lists, etc.) as well as nearly all settings (can't remember which aren't synced right now, but it's a very small list).
