SUGGESTION: Saints layout from the Home Page Side Bar

When one clicks on a Saint the results seem very lonely - well organized but lonely.
I would suggest that it would be better PR for Verbum to at least open the image of the saint so that the page looks complete.
At least it appears that Verbum has resources to justify the page. It might be even better to include the top priority resource from the "Further Reading" Section.

The top priority would often (usually?) be the lectionary. If someone wanted the lectionary, they would most likely have clicked on the lectionary link, and not the saint link. The top biographical book on the saint would seem more relevant. However, do we really need a special predefined Saints Layout? That seems a bit of an overkill to me. Especially as we can't define what the top book is, and Logos seems to prefer Pictorial Lives, which I definitely do not, after finding some very inaccurate accounts.
But an image might be nice, in your case with a new one panel layout. (When you already have a layout, the resource simply opens in a new tab. I would not want an image as well in those cases.)

Agreed that I would not want to change this behavior.

I agree this would be undesirable.

For new users working off the Home Page I think it would be desirable. Click on the sidebar Lectionary one gets a complete layout. Click on the sidebar Saint you get a simple panel. I think the contrast is too great to provide a sense of consistency.

At some point Andrew explained why he had originally built the data off this source and indicated he had plans to expand to other resources.

And what are you going to do about Reading Lists? Click on one of them, and all you get is the tiny (and fixed) RL panel.
Another reason for Logos not to open a book for us can be seen today: Click on Mary (Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary)*. You will be taken to the Saints entry for Virgin Mary. But the first link below the lectionaries goes to The Seven Dolors of the Blessed Virgin. Talk about confusing if that opened automatically on every Marian day of the liturgical year! So unless you want to add bewilderment rather than enlightenment you will need a lot more code than just opening the first resource. Add the image, by all means, that can't be too complicated, but let people choose the link to open themselves. Logos has far more important issues to fix. Like a liturgical datatype.

He does include at least one other resource, but he puts it below Pictorial Lives.

Oh...this thread isn't at all what I expected, what with the words "Saints" and "bar" in the title. I thought this might have something to do with New Orleans, my hometown. [B][:P][D]
