My first try at FSD got me into "The Pulpit Commentary: Titus"  at Titus 2:7–8

Listing the obedience of a servant

"But the obedience was necessarily limited by the Divine Law, for a servant could not sin at a master’s command. He must in that case willingly suffer the consequences of disobedience."

My boss often requires me to do things that are a little off key

Is this telling me to Quit tomorrow or wait until the next time he requires something off key?

what're you all using for your screen shots?  Snagit?  or something free?

    I got:

Bernard of Clairveaux: between cult and history

    Novum Testamentum Graece: Prolegomena (RIVETING!!!)

Daily Study Bible Series: Matthew, with this quirky little story at the top:

At a conference at which D. L. Moody was present there were also present some young people who took their Christian faith very seriously. One night they held an all night prayer meeting. As they were leaving it in the morning they met Moody, and he asked them what they had been doing. They told him; and then they went on: “Mr. Moody, see how our faces shine.” Moody answered very gently: “Moses wist not that his face shone.” That goodness which is conscious, which draws attention to itself, is not the Christian goodness.

One of the old historians wrote of Henry the Fifth after the Battle of Agincourt: “Neither would he suffer any ditties to be made and sung by the minstrels of his glorious victory, for that he would wholly have the praise and thanks altogether given to God.” The Christian never thinks of what he has dome, but of what God has enabled him to do. He never seeks to draw the eyes of men to himself, but always to direct them to God. So long as men are thinking of the praise, the thanks, the prestige which they will get for what they have done, they have not really even begun on the Christian way.

The Gospel of Matthew : Volume. 2000 (W. Barclay, lecturer in the University of Glasgow, Ed.). The Daily study Bible series, Rev. ed. (125–126). Philadelphia: The Westminster Press.

hmmmmm, i wonder if "has dome" is a typo or old English???  [:P]

David, I don't know what you mean by "a little off key".

If that means "odd but not sinful" do what your conscious compels you.  But if off key means Illegal or sinful, being a Christian means following Christ first - and he doesn't want you to sin.

if you're boss is asking you to do something sinful, I don't think you need to quit and leave the opportunity to be a witness.  Instead communicate respectfully that you believe "doing that is illegal/sinful and I can no longer be party to illegal activity".  It would perhaps be a good idea to suggest a righteous alternative and offer to take care of the difficulties in doing that.

That does not mean you won't be fired - It very likely will mean just that, or a very difficult work environment after that.  But Sin is sin, and there is no excuse for sin just by saying, "my boss told me to."

1 Peter also speaks about suffering unjustly for doing righteousness.  It is a very real phenomena.  I'll be praying for you today about this.

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Damian, did you pay for yours or was it free?  I saw one google link to a 2 or 3 year old article that said you could get version 7.2 (or something like that) for free if you followed certain steps.  Well, now they are on verson 9 or something and I didn't see a corresponding deal.  Do you happen to know if there is a current free version--or are you techie enough that you just bought it?  Is there a decent freeware you recommend by chance?

I got the free old version and then paid for the upgrade to the latest version....

Give me a moment and I'll search for the link...

I upgraded because I'm compulsive... Obviously the newer version is a bit nicer to use. A number of people use jing for their screen captures. I'm not sure what the editing capabilities are like. Itall depends how much you like to mark up your images.

Thank you.  I just downloaded from the link, but upon installation, I ran into a "snag" when it was "installing Snagit printer".  It just froze for many many minutes.  I had to force a shut down.  I wonder if it was incompatibility with Win 7

    Dan,

I'm not Damian, but I went that path... had intended to stay on free 7.2.5. It turns out it's an evaluation copy that expires in 30 days. So it's upgrade (at reduced cost) or lose it.

Bill, did you put in the serial code (or whatever it's called)?  I had read on the internet that that moves it from trial version to free version.  But you have to put in the number.

My bad... in the original post way back when, somehow I missed the key... are we violating any licensing agreement by sharing/using it? If no, I'll reinstall-------and THANK YOU!
